  3. i've deep water jigged with one of these, and its like sex on a stick.

  5. use sydney ports for the harbour and botany bay and www.bouyweather.com for offshore and coastal reports.
  6. plus you get twice as much line on the spool with braid, which is also of benefit when casting.
  7. Anyone spent much time down that way, like bermi, mystery bay, tilba etc, know if the beaches fish very well, or if there's jew down there?
  8. dorsal fin would suggest wahoo, body shape would suggest wahoo, mouth could be a dodgy camera angle, but grey mackeral have a wider body.

  10. you can see it at low tide, its pretty much directly out from the boat ramp around 100 or so meters.

  14. mate there are fads all the way up the coast, check the fisheries website for the gps marks for all the fads.

  18. Good thread! I was diving off teh botany wide fad and had a 90kg+ black marlin eyeball me.
  19. i had a snorkel near the fiah farm in botany bay a while ago, and there is a 20 kg spawner in there, its massive, along with about 100,000 20cm jews, pretty cool sight.
  20. cheers fellas, i knew i wasnt imagining things! I've fished that area quite a bit, it can be desolate at times, but if you use the right tech at the right tide, its quite productive.
  21. that's fishing buddy, i've cleaned up on big bream and whiting in my spot mentioned. If you didn't like it, there's a pretty good chance you were in the wrong spot or fishing it wrong or both, this is why i'm hesitant to give out advice to people i don't know.

  23. yeah, if you walk out the the end of the flat to where it meets the water from the shops, head east along the shore and cross the little chanel that runs into the basin.
