G'day mate, go to the eastern side of the channel and walk out on the little finger of sand that gets created as the tide rises over the flats and drift your nippers down the current!

yeah the offshore mountain is called the banks, i've dived it before, awesome spot! currarong is looking the goods, but does it have good land based fishing, i think we'll have a tinny down there but nothing that will take on the open ocean, also, i'm not too keen to take on the tubes, its a lot of work and i'm there to relax.

yea i think we're looking at jervis, there's good diving there as well. I'd like somewhere that i can haul a esky of beer down to the beach from the camp site and sit there all nigh and can on while trying to cath fish!

Hey Guy's, My mates are planning a trip (with girlfriends/wives) down the coast this year, we usually go up but we thought we'd head down, my pre requisites are alway's going to be fishing, but the ladies will want something nice, so what towns have nice beaches for both fishing and swiming and a good headland for fishing and maybe even an inlet. I've already said no to batemens bay cause i've never caught fish there. And where is every one else going?

yeah mate no real trick, the bonnies seem to hang around the feeding schools of salmon, try trolling through dead mans and around south maroubra, you have to get a bit close to the rocks but its all deep water round there, just have your ratchet on so you can watch where you're going and steer the boat out to see as soon as she sings!

Hey All, First report in a while, managed to get out with some mates from the club on sunday arvo and trolled some lures along the rocks, water was dirty green but we chased a school of stripies (we think) that had birds feeding about 2km out off maroubra, we figured they were stripeys cause they were moving bloody fast and we coudn't keep up. So we gave up and went back to trolling between malabar and maroubra, total was i think 4 salmon, 3 bonito and one sgt baker lol (went a bit close to the reef on that occasion) dropped a fat salmon next to the boat that was pretty annoying, but hey, that's fishing! Here's a pic of two of the bonito's that made dinner that night, thai bonito curry, Yummo! BTW, we were trolling a pink squid and a rapala red and white cd17, the rapala did all teh damage, didn't get a hit on the squidy. EDIT: Also picked up a rat king, went 55cm

Hey guy's are people still catching them, i heard of a boat getting into them last weekend, how long have i got to get onto one?

yeah it depends on water conditions, i was speeking to some guy's from a spear clup who helped deploy the fad at SWR last year, they returned the day after and it already had dollies congregating around it. We had 21-22 degree water off sydney last weekend so who know's what travelled down the coast.

NOTE: The dollies don't wait for growth to form on the fads, while this attracts bait and then attracts other predators, the dollies will turn up within two day's of a fad being deployed, if the currents are right, which this unseasonable warm water would indicate.

Good effort Mondo, the boy's from the fishing club tell me that Marourbra holds jew, don't know if you've tried it but its as good a spot as any!

yeah i'm looking forward to talking to him, i don't think i got my point across properly on the e-mail, that being that you can not charge people that much to catch yakkas and pike.
