Fishing/camping Spot

Since my annual camping trip to lake lyell has been put off(due to low water which means no boating) i was thinking of maybe trying out camping somewhere along the hawkesburry.

Is there any spots that are completly private, or dedicated camping sites?

I think there might be some bays inbetween jerusilum(spelling) and akuna bay that might be a good spot?

it would probably be for 1 night(car and trailer left at akuna bay marina)

thanks

Opposite Bar Island there are 2 beaches right next to Marramarra creek and Beauty Point they are pretty quiet spots but you do have to get up there as early as possible if not the night before.

Further up the river towards Spencer along side Marlow where the rock house is theres a camping ground which can be quiet called Greenmans valley caravan park you access it via the old pacific hwy at Mt White they have everything, all immenities and a very good boat ramp.

I hope that gives you a few ideas.

thanks for that sparky

will definantly check it out. Do you know it it is safe to leave the tent there during the day while fishing on the boat?

Where would be the best spot to keep the car and trailer for the night safely.

We always put the boat in a Bayview then take the car and trailer to palm beach

and park in the back streets or if you take the first left going into palm beach

and folow it around there is a large vacent lot (owned by the council) where you can park

your car and trailer. (this is where the sand ramp is) just walk down the lane and

you get picked up from there.

As far as security is concerned I leave my car and trailer there for 3 weeks over XMAS

and have been for 7 years. Last year i left my car there with a broken window. I have never lost

a thing.

Its a great spott

You can take a day trip and check it out.

there's a terrible spot on the nth side of the hawkesbury called Patonga. :1prop:

excellent facilities with both powered and non powered sites. great access to the main haunts of the hawkesbury like juno and F&S ( only 5 mins away).

you can book through gosford council

have to recommend the two beaches.

absolutely beautiful places and during the warmer months the beaches are teaming with bream tailor flathead and whiting.

maximum stay is 3 nights i think at one time on one beach.

but obviously if you want to stay longer move to the other beach.

security maybe an issue though.

Bayview ramp should be fine to leave the car and trailer. The car park has lighting. I have left my car and trailer there overnight on a few times. Bayview boat ramp is a user pay and I think 48 hours is about $16,

If you are worried there are a number of near by streets with houses and street lighting which you can park in.

If your still worried contact me via a PM and I may be able to help as I live in the area and could drop you back to your boat and show you some very safe spots to park near my place.

Cheers
