Dan A
Hi, As the Salmon where on up the coast over the long weekend, I caught a couple and will make fish cakes out of them as they are not that great eating. But, is it worth keeping a few more and using the fillets as bait?, is it good bait?, are there many fish which can be caught with it? Thanks Dan Edited October 4, 2006 by Dan A

Jewhunter
Zenman got his 8kg Jew on salted sambo recently & I have no worries about putting out a fresh slab when I get one. Live sambos are a top big king bait. So yeah, why not? Who knows what you'll hook into! Cheers, Grant.

namesay
Last year I got spooled TWICE on 30lb braid using live salmon as bait. Don't know what the critters were but the salmon were pretty large. I would guess they were real hoodlum kingies but who knows. Cheers Kelvin

Guest IFishSick.
Salmon are very good strip baits as well as livies because they are so oily and really give off a lovely foul smell.
