Guest DV8
Personally, I first caught a Slimy Mack The first fish i caught was a toad fish when I was four. I was just as stoked then as I am today when I pull up a nice reddie. Thats fishing!! When i look at the poor 90% that catch only 10% I always remember not to snear at them because their level of thrill with catching a docile old leatherjacket from under the piers is just the same as ours. The main thing is we are out there and doing it. Keep fishing Davo
Richie
I was 12 and I was at Bobbin Head with a friend and his parents. I got so bored I untangled a piece of line I found with a big rusty hook on it. I crushed a few periwinkles and threaded them on to the hook. I pulled out a big old flattie I did - much to my astonishment.
Davemmm
All I know is it was Tuross Heads 1975. Too young at the time to remember but the old man assures me I was seven. Probably a Flatty. Pity the place has gone to crap since the heads closed.

Flightmanager
My first fish was a flathead when I was about 5 or 6 . I had no idea I had caught it until I reeled in , and saw him on the end of the line !! I was so happy , I put him under my towel to show mum later , but the towel blew away , and a seagull got my fish!! Oh , did I mention he was all of 4 inches long? I knew nothing of size limits back then ( early 60's). Ross

Foxy
Hey fellas My first fish was a flatty, second was a flattie aswell. One after the other, both around the same size (45cm+-). I was stoked. My grandmother was the culprit. She took me fishing that day, threaded my hook with bait and helped me cast out, at the age of 8 I don't think she realised the can of worms that was about to be opened. Still not a bad flatty spot that one (Woy Woy channel). Cheers Owen
