mottyman
Hi Shauno, Definately worth a go!!!!!! There's masses of weed beds around there and you can walk the bank tossing surface lures. Anything black!!!!!! I've caught heaps of little bass from the shoreline down there. You can park the car at the rowing club and walk down. Also, below they weir you can walk down river. There's deeper pools along the way which hold bass and mullet. A nice humid evening when the cicardas are singing and the dragon flys are in the air - perfect!! Let us know how you go. Cheers David. tafc010
S'cuse my ignorance but does that mean there is some salt in the water or are they freshwater mullet? Geoff
abiasin
There can be both Geoff and some of the bullies come from the salt and some are actually yellow eye or sand mullet ,we have caught them as far as the Junction at Wallacia Cheers Stewy what he said, ive found the yellow eye to be the hardest fighting by far and plenty of fun to catch when they tip the scales at 1kg and dive straight for the weeds on 4pound line. snag
As most of the guys have already said bassin at the weir is good. Ive found that if you park not far from the railway bridge you will find a track that will fish well down to the weir. Early mornings or late arfternoons work best and as mottyman said topwater lures are the go.(black working the best). Good luck with the bassin
