Choosing A Fish Finder

Hi All,

I am tossing up between two sounders for my 5m boat.

I do both harbour and offshore fishing and want to know if anyone has a recommenddation.

The two I am chosing from is:

Furuno FCV-620 or Raymarine DS500x

Some help would be great.

Id go the Furuno. Ive mainly only ever heard good reports about Furuno, especially their new range of coloured units.

Ive got the RayM DS600X (slightly bigger screen) as it came with my boat when i bought it second hand. Its a good unit, but i would not replace it with another if it broke. You would not be unhappy with it, but considering they are within 10% the same price id still go Furuno.

Do a seach and have a browse on a couple of the forum pages here. There is PLENTY of discussion on this kind of stuff

That Furuno is a top little unit! I would not think ttwwiiccee about it!

furuno all the way, i know a few guys who use them and are all over the moon with them. i have a furuno ls4100 and they are a top unit also. so much control, maybe too much as i havent mastered it yet.

i have the fcv620 and its a TOP unit...

worth every scent high recommended

Mate i have seen both units in operation and the furuno wins hands down...go the furuno
