robeebee Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 took the day off from work to go fishing with my Dad got on the water early and headed for the first baths past the Cook's river slight northerly blowing so it looked like a good drift cast out my little 4 pound outfit and get a good hit first cast (happy birthday I think to myself ) dropped it anyway we kept a nice drift going and after 20 minutes Dad's on short tussle and he lands a nice flounder after a pic he's released keep drifting and all is quiet for a while ,then Dad's on again ( don't these fish know it's my special day ) put's up a bit of a fight and i net a nice 54 cm flattie for him wind is starting to really blow now and i'm doing it tough ,3 bites in 3 hours get near Doll's pt and i feel lucky ,have caught some good fish here in the past reel goes off but it's not mine , Dad's on again and lands another flattie at 41 cm's we come back a bit and do a drift again and Dad gets another Flounder (FAIR DINKUM ) a bit small so he goes back aswell tried a bit round the 16 foot sailing club for zip and went back for another drift along Lady Robinson i got a couple of touches but nothing exiting so we headed for the ramp today was not my day, but Sunday may be the one , (fingers crossed )

I've got an idea he loves his fishing and was pretty happy to be out on the water I always ran second when I went with my dad even years after he retired, and he would have hammered me even going easy on my birthday. Cheers mate and nice flathead and flounder and when one fires well the other is around too. It all made it a very happy birthday and have many more good birthday results Roylo. Jewgaffer
