  4. Mabey docs should have a word to this chap.
  5. Always said no to the georges after rain, perhaps I need to reconsider. Congrats on the fish.
  6. Hi, I fish the botany bay usually once every week, and have found that the fishing for some species in the rain is better, however the majority go off the bite. Do you also have the same problem or do you have an explaination? cheers,
  7. go to the end of container wall and fish with livies for kings or try the oilwarf, third runnway, drums, molipoint, they are everywere.
  8. Buy fishing NSW monthly issue and check out the fishing report in your area.
  9. Australian Salmon yummo, oven with chilly and lime.
  10. Thanks for the replies, just got back from a hunting trip. Nectic Ive found where in the bay the reds hang out but can't manage any over 30cm, mabbey i need to buy a fishfinder. The flatthead on the other hand I might need some pointers from robeebee he seems to have nutted them out. Mondo I think your right I got to get a bigger boat and chase some fin, however I have fluked a few 10kg+ gummy's in the bay. jewgaffer I hear what youre saying, but the only interest i have is not the challenge of the fight, but the challenge of the size of the fish. I have caught kingys on my bream rod and yes harder to catch but at the end of the day still a kingy. Huntman Kingys would have to be the most prolific feeder in and around the bay I have caught them using plastic, any fish that would try to eat plastic would eat anything I rekon. Ask jewgaffer how easy they are to target. robeebee I usually rig up my baitrunner 6500B with 25pound line, also my flickstick with 2500 stradic 30p braid. also with my pen overhead running 50pound line which I only rig up with big baits and tackle
  11. Hi, Just need some info on what big fish I can target other than Kingfish in botany bay. Im sick and tired of catching kings, I know that may sound unsual to some but to others they know what Im talking about, please help. cheers, Thereddragon
  12. That should be some kind of record, catching 16kg kingfish and being towed around in a 13ft tinnie for 20 mins on 30lb braid. That amazing well done on a fantastic catch.
  13. The secret is listening to other members that know what they are talking about.
  14. Hi all, Went out on Sunday, mon, tue, wed caught over 26 kings @ 55-64 cm only 8 over 65cm, quesiton is does anybody know the dinamics of the school? How do I target just the big kings? where abouts are they swimming in the school? cheers, thereddragon
  15. Hi all, Just wondering how do you get rid of seals hanging around the boat eating your catch? Also is it leagal to kill them? or throw rocks at them to go away?
  16. The funny thing was when I landed the first one it was the 78cm king, I just started woo hooing and shouting as I was over the moon I just could'nt stop smiling all day.
  17. Hi, Organised to go out with a fellow fishraider but it fell through. Anyway decided to go by myself Got on the water at 8:00am and headed straight to the drums to land 9 trevally's to 39cm and 2 yakka's. The weather was nice so I decided to head out of the heads but as soon as I headed out the wind and swell picked up so I trolled back to the bay picking up 4 Kings to 78cm, got heaps of hook ups but could'nt land them by myself. I beached the boat at ramsgate beach to clean them and had at 2 people trying to by my catch. But I ended up going over my mates place with the family and His wife cooked them up on the bbq wilst we got stuck into Jim beam.
  18. Congrats, on your first Kingy and many more to come
  19. Im going to the bay at 2:30 rain or no rain
  20. Hi, Keep in mind that I am not trying to change your opinion on this fish but only sharing what little knowledge I have on this local. Sorry not getting back to you earlier in regards to my salmon prep. Any way here it is: Salmon has a naturally strong flavor and has firm flesh this in mind you can utilise it to your advantage, the trouble with most people is that they try to use it in recipes that a suited to bland / lightly flavoured fish. 1.Catch fish 2.Bleed fish by kniffing its gills, try not to kill it immediatly as the whole purpose is to keep its heart pumping. 3.Put on ice 4.Gut, Fillet, Skin, Debone 5.Cut off red meat if you dont like strong flavour 6.Leave in fridge for 2-3days keeping it out of its juices Use any recipe that you like keep in mind that it goes best with sweet or spicy recipe. Asian or Indian recipe's are best. enjoy Thereddragon
