Belly Posted February 21, 2009 Share Posted February 21, 2009 First fish for the month. Hit the bay this morning at 6am with the old man. Headed out to Towra with the skies looking threatening. Fished plastic's for an hour without a bite. Dad brought along some old prawns from his last trip. Baited up a second rod and left it drifting out the outside of the boat. It wasn't long before reel started screaming. I new it was a good fish as it took me around the boat twice before we could see what it was, a nice 74cm flathead. A couple of quick photo's and she was released to hopefully produce more like her. The heavens opened and it rained for the next two hours. Landed a couple of small flatties on plastics and had a decent one bust of near the boat. In the meantime Dad landed a nice 34cm bream and two 40cm flatties all on the same drift. Dad changed to his favourite pumpkin seed colour and instantly got his PB bream 38cm's. Will go nice on the BBQ tonight along with some flat head fillets.
