robeebee
sorry , no pics , slept in this morning first time ever , woke to the sound of the door bell Dad waits with the car while i get ready , fair dinkum got to spot x around 6.45 and the wind was not friendly , going against the tide only had to persevere till the change and all was sweet dropped about 7 or 8 good fish today , not happy don't know why , new sharp jigheads anyway , today was all catch and release and we did ok Dad got a nice Tailor near 40 cms on a squidgey then the strangest thing happened I hook a nice flattie on 2 pound and get him to the boat only to see it's not hooked , only holding on to the gulp worm reach for the net and it bites the tail off next drift Dad's on with a decent fish i net him a mid 40's flattie and he's happy when he took the jighead out a small tail section of a turtleback worm fell out of it's mouth we caught the same fish in 2 drifts , go figure all in all not a bad sesh with a good mixed bag all released bream, flatties ,tailor ,whiting new Symetre reel feels great cant wait to hook a good fish on it
james7
Sleeping in??? Dropping fish??? Doesn't sound like you robeebee! Oh well, these things happen! Good to hear that you did end up getting a few. i net him a mid 40's flattie and he's happywhen he took the jighead out a small tail section of a turtleback worm fell out of it's mouth we caught the same fish in 2 drifts , go figure I love stories like this. A few years ago I got busted off by "something" near South Cronulla. Ten minutes later the reel screams again and I pull up a 1m bronzie with my other rig in it's mouth! I removed both hooks and it swims away. What are the chances? Good to hear you're enjoying the new Symetre. Cheers Peter

King slayer
Nice day out mate. That's funny about the flattie! Not the smartest of creatures... I recently caught a little tailor like that. Lifted him right out of the water on to land before he dropped off the tail of my plastic!
Jewdreamer
Hey Robbebee, Good work, at least you got out there, I kept looking out the office window and thought, maybe I should just hitch up the boat and drop it in at Oatley bay - only 5 mins away. Anyway had lots on so stayed in the office and got a couple of good contracts... mightnt be fishing for pisces, but hooking a couple of decent customers still feels good and you don't have to scale and gut em! The Iceman
We use stinger hooks a lot in winter in our SPs A small treble tied on a short length of 6lb line to the eye of the jighead and pin it to the SP just in front of the tail More for bream than flatties Fished very slowly and strike at any suspect movement of the line
