WINDON
Last week we where up the coast again with the trusty canoe. We hit the Kalang River first and landed a few Bass and a couple bream. Later that night we hit the jew around structure and landed a couple soapies, but a lot of work for little return. The following day we had a lay day so hit the Bellinger River in the arvo for 12 Bass in two hours, the biggest was Wongas 42cm beast on a plastic. We then loaded the car and moved way down river and hit the Jew again with 18 landed,30+ flatties, tailor and a couple big bust offs not to mention double hookups. A great time was had by all and still no fish where harmed.

arpie
Well done guys - some nice looking fish there! Do you reckon the rivers will fish better after the floods? Some folk reckon our streams will down here (hope so, anyway!) I intend giving them a go this year! Roberta
WINDON
The fish are used to floods, the bellingen has had 3 this year. There is a lot of damage to the banks but there is great structure in the river now with all the trees washed in. The fish are a lot different up there then we have encounted elsewhere, what they like in lures, times of day they feed and where they reside. The water is so clear and clean, the timber and scenery is amazing and it is great to fish, but the fish are tough. Floods are good for the rivers and fish.
