Fishraider Hits 10000 Members

Recommended Posts

WE HAVE JUST VALIDATED OUR 10,000th REGISTERED MEMBER

At this point it is appropriate to congratulate all our past and present moderators, past and present sponsors and our membership base.

This website was the dream of Mr Ken Alexander who handed it over to Stewy, Grant and myself to continue the vision. The vision was to create a space where men, women and young folk could meet to exchange ideas and help each other to enjoy this most wonderful sport of fishing.

There were those that knocked us for even thinking we could achieve this outcome. There were those that said "a woman should not be involved in men's business". That is all behind us as we celebrate the growth and the development of one of the BEST FISHING FORUMS in Australia.

We cannot make this happen without the help that we receive from all areas. Those members who post frequently, assist us at socials and fishraider events, donate freely of their time and donate food at socials. Raiders go out of their way to show others new and old, the techniques they have learned from the information shared on fishraider.

Raiders are now everywhere, at every boat ramp you will meet one, in tackle shops, pulled up at stop signs with fishraider stickers on their boats. Be proud to be part of this special community for it is indeed, special.

Our webmaster deserves a very special mention. He is an IT specialist in many areas and he is a fishraider. He came to us and offered his help and he has been our tower of strength over the past few years. He has upgraded this website to be one of the finest and a big thanks from us all.

Lastly, but not least we have to introduce our 10,000th member who just happens to be a young man of 6 years of age. His name is J.J. He is a keen angler already and aligns perfectly with our vision to show the younger folk our craft and our passion. This is done to ensure that the sport of fishing is carried on for generations to come.

Raiders rule - be proud and spread the word.

Regards

Donna, Stewy and Grant

Congratulations Admin Team on the validation of our 10000th member. How fitting that it should be yet another junior; the future of our pastime. :1welcomeani: JJ!

The 'family friendly' atmosphere, broad cross-section of the fishing world, and the acceptance of the 'not so experienced' are just a few of the reasons the site is as popular at it is today. You have certainly achieved your 'vision', and then some! :yahoo:

Thank you to all the members.

Your reports, photos, suggestions, ideas, advice and amusing anecdotes encourage others to join the Fishraider Family. Keep up the great work!

Cheers

Well done on following the vision.

Congratulations, Stewy, Donna & Grant. A wonderful success and just shows that we can do anything we desire by just putting our minds to it and committing to and believing in what we stand for as human beings.

Anything is possible and this great site proves it.

Have yourselves a few drinks, people, you deserve it.

WOW! 10000 members!! :1yikes:

It's you guys & girls that make this site what it is. I have also learnt so much more about fishing, tackle & techniques from this forum. I've made lifelong friends & have been lucky enough to fish with many Raiders. Fishraider truly is unique.

J.J has been hassling me for weeks to get him on Fishraider. He sits by me at the computer looking at all your photos, naming the fish. There wouldn't be many 6 yr olds with his knowledge of species! :biggrin2:

He is very proud to be our 10000th member. I used to take him in his pram from 3 months old flicking plastics shorebased in Sydney. His passion for all things fishy is unbelievable. He wants to fish everyday. He has progressed from soaking baits to spinning for bass. He now only wants to fish soft plastics & has the cast, hop & wind down pat.

Here are a few pics of the young bloke at work. The early pics are from when he was 2yrs old.

Cheers,

Grant.

Congratulations JJ on becoming the 10000 member of Fishraiders, I knew you would wear dad down sooner or later to register your name.

Also congratulations to Donna, Stewy and Grant, Webmaster and all the past, present and possible future moderators, Without guys like you keeping this site in check it would not be the place it is today.

To all the members who have contributed over the years, keep it coming as it is with all your reports and advise that we keep the site growing from strength to strength.

Looking forward to being a member of this great community for years to come.

Cheers
