benny81
G'day, I have now pulled two nice Gold Spotted Sweetlips in the same area not far north of Sydney. I have only ever seen these in tropical, or at least warm waters in the north, and the book gives their range as being more northerly too. There are very fatty. The "membrane" bewteen their swim bladder and gut cavity is about 4mm thick fat. As a result of being fat, they have made the best sashimi i have tasted ever. And i have eaten pretty much everything i can raw (at least once). Anyone else seen these fish this far south? Anyone got a theory on what they are doing down here? Cheers! wannabefisho
Maybe they got sick of the Qld'ers flogging us in the footy and decided to swap camps to give us a better chance next time- they could hold the secret to success for next year ya know. I'd be asking one next time for the coveted "secret" then let him go roflroflrofl
tuffy
That's a good sign, Benny. Maybe the Pearl Perch will arrive at Sydney Heads soon too. Tuffy
