Port report - updated daily

REEF MAGIC CHARTERS

Recommended Posts

We fished last Saturday with all the other boats & there was plenty of bait about but the fishing was slow. We managed 2 quick bites in the morning put the hooks in 1 of them but managed to jump him off. Thanks to Scratchie who came on board for the day to help out. Hopefully we were able to help you with a few tips that let you catch yourself more marlin in the future with your kids.

Well the boys were out today & the bite was consistent for them all day. Unfortunately for us they only manage 1 from 6 bites but was promising to see the fish back on the bite. The fish are mainly small blacks around 60kg & unfortunately sometimes they love to play with the bait & not swallow it which makes it very hard to set the circle hook. Anyway they are back out tomorrow then in heading up with raider Secho who is fishing in the Shootout with us. Good luck if you get out!

Cheers

Damo and mike, it was a pleasure to ride with you fellas. You are truly professional and an awesome charter. The lunch you provide is fantastic, let alone the 43footer that just cruises through the water no matter what the conditions. I learnt so much whilst on board and damo you were very giving of the info you provided.

So if any raider out there wants the best and most comfortable chance to go game fishing, then look no further than REEF MAGIC!

Cheers scratchie!!!

Hey mate.. well done on the fish yesterday. That's good fishing as in general it was quiet with a lot of boats not seeing a fish from our reports. Did you get the fish livebaiting? Look forward to seeing you on board on the 8th.

Gday damo we were the ones in the morning sending you around us for the bait. In the formula. We ended up pissing off from there when the weather come up and gpt smashed by a large black in 70 fathoms inside of the ship. Lost him though.

Hey guys.. well today was tough leaving the wharf at 4am to get up off the seal rocks canyons for start fishing at 8am. Wind was 15-20 out of the north and we ploughed straight into it. All the big lures went in & we had a nice fish on around 9am be managed to jump him off followed by a little black at 10am around 110kg that we tagged & released. Sadly we didn't see another fish especially the big blue we were chasing. Leading boat tag & release had 3 fish & biggest blue weighed so far is 174kg. Easily beatable & we will be back out there tomorrow looking for a 200+ fish.

Cheers

Ended up with 1 dolly yesterday at 19.6kg and had w srrikes on skipbaits that the hooks didnt sink. All in all a great trip with an adverage of 2 to 3 hits a day on either lures skips or livebaits... learned a heap this year and will be looking forward to my next beakie trip.

100% improvement on last year so hopefully it can only get better. Ended the trip with 1 black and 1 dolly.

Lost a very nice black well over 120kg due to line failing. Brand new shogun!!

Hey guys.. Well the fishing gods didn't shine on us as we headed towards Fiji yesterday, wide the current was pushing 3 knots to the south & we hit 26 degree & purple blue water looking for the big blue marlin we were after to win the Shootout. . We did manage a nice yellowfin about 45 miles out around a pod of whales. Biggest fish from saturday didn't get beaten & the boys on Casey took that out & Sydney boat Smartbill won tag & release I think with 6 fish.

Fishing wasn't hot but with 101 boats in the comp the radio was pretty consistent with boats tagging fish & plenty of boats hooked & lost fish over the weekend.

We just had some great news from the Gold Coast area where the fishing has been very good & if the currents continue to push down the coast the fishing should only improve a lead to good fishing for the next few months.

Cheers

Hey guys sorry for the late report. The 2 interclub days were not breaking any records but with 130 boats fish are going to be fish caught. The radio was solid on the saturday with both marlin & yellowfin being tagged & captured. Yellowfin up to 35kg were encountered both days by numerous boats some tagging up to 12 per sked.

This week we haven't been out but the fishing is consisting of 1 or 2 fish a day per boat. Still great fishing in any part of the world. Port this year is hotting up & if those warm waters push in close do be surprised over the coming weeks to see a good bite of black marlin on the inshore reefs. The wider grounds are holding great numbers of medium size blacks of 70-120kg which are proving a handful for many anglers.

Hope you guys that have been out have done well & we will be back out next week for 4 days do will let you know how we go.

Cheers

Damo

Went to the weigh in today for the interclub. Plenty of boats amongst the fish today and a lot of blues being weighed in. A young lady also broke the NSW record for her blue of 184.5kg on 15kg. There was a 205kg mako and plenty of yellow fin and dollies tagged! About time port fired!!!

Hi guys.. this week port hasn't been breaking any records but 1 or 2 fish a day is still good fishing. We caught a nice black today around 80kg that put on a great aerial performance for the guys. Plenty of dolphinfish about & the goid weather will see better numbers over the next few days with the inshore areas improving. We will be back out the next 3 days so will keep you updated each day. Anyone fancy watching the roosters vs bunnies tomorrow night?

Cheers
