Keofferam
Went out sunday for a quick session between 10 and 12noon. Headed out to the heads- no bird activity in the harbor but around the corner and there was a beautiful sight. Birds and boiling water. We had one working a fly outfit and I had a small halco metal on a Fugi rod and 7kg mono.. Not long before I got a solid strike and then some aerials and a great fight. These guys fight like hell and on my mid range gear its just great fun. They disappeared before long and we had to get back but was a very fun session. Scratchie
Great stuff. It's always good when you can see the commotion on the water and cast into the unknown. There pretty good scappers the old salmon! Well done Cheers scratchie!!!

REELCRAZY
Nice work mate. We got into a huge school just inside the heads on sat. Chased for nearly 2 hours. Hooked into a good few but only after we switched to small grubs on heavy jig heads with a fast retrieve.
Keofferam
Yes they can be fussy. A lot of baitfish around 4cm odd so small works well. Heading up to Pittwater by boat from Sydney Friday late afternoon and will be dragging lures the whole way up. Hope I have something to report!! Mike89
Nice score. I'd love to learn to take these guys on lures. For now I'll stick to basics with bait!
