rockfisherman
No its not.... But thats about as far as I can cast with the gear we use chasing Jewies using this method. That is a MASSIVE cast, the only way I'd get a livie out 200m would be if I stood with my left foot forward, kneel down and clip it onto a remote control helicopter. Crossfire63
Who said I cast the Livie. I certainly didnt.............All I cast is a 4 or 6oz sinker...then I use a Live bait slider. ... I'd put up the link to show you how it works but the quick fingered moderators will only take it down.amd Im not send heaps of PM's 200m isn't a big cast. Theres a lot of blokes who can cast alot further than that

james3210
Get a longer rod for off the wharf or off the rocks mate. At least 11' long in my personal experience. 7' long the kings will easily cut u off the pylons. Just my 2 cents.
Freddy-the-EEL~~~?
Do what I did, go on gumtree and buy second hand. Bought 4 decent rod reel combos off an old fella, 110 buks, bargin!!?
mii11x
Im really keen to get some of those things and try....i reckon the most id get out of my 8144 with a yakka and a 100gram weight would be 40m. No yakka and it goes for miles though
Crossfire63
If you get a back lash you might be able to get your bait out to the Peak when it snaps off The I'd have to get someone in a small blue Ice cream tub to go and get it back for me
pjbink
Get a longer rod for off the wharf or off the rocks mate. At least 11' long in my personal experience. 7' long the kings will easily cut u off the pylons. Just my 2 cents. With a short rod you will be able to exert more pressure on the fish (less leverage disadvantage) and so pul them away from the pylons.
