Chicks On Boats

Dear Fishoes

Of late I have been faced with a disturbing trend. Mates on two occasions have attempted to bring their girlfriend/wife along on a boating fishing trip.

I have a simple rule on my boat, no women when it come to serious fishing outings. After waiting and planning for a week, the last thing I want on my boat is the relentless cursed chatter, can you tie this, I think our lines are tied or can you put on my bait. Lets not to mention how the conversation changes when women a present. And how it affects alcohol consumption and the urinating over the side. “Don’t drink so much” or “you’re filthy” :wife:

This wouldn’t be an issue except those mates that I have spelled out the rules to have now become distant and pissed off.

To avoid sounding like a chauvinist pig, what do other boat owners do in these circumstances?

I am no dear diary, but I find this is some good advice.

Make a rule, all females are to remain naked while on board and should bring a friend along for the skipper who is a cooperative and a good sort.

That should make life a little more pleasant for you.

Good luck

my girlfriend fishes 3/4 of the trips we venture out on, she is very keen to get her first marlin so shes been putting the hours in even when we troll.

when we bottom bash she seems to out fish some of my mates.

starting to do her own rigs etc now too

guess depends on the chick really

my mrs usually out fishes me :ranting2:

she'll bait her own hooks and fix her own rigs, she drinks , and doesn't care if you pee over the side

The funniest was when we went on a charter boat down the south coast, and all these guys were grumbling about her getting on board. Not only did she out fish them that day, the icing on the cake was that most of them got chronic sea sickness and spewed all day whilst we sat around drinking tins and catching fish.

They had the nerve to want to split the catch when we got back to shore :1yikes:

It would annoy me having anyone around ( guy or girl) that bitched and moaned all day

Edited to remove all the swear words. I am not a prude but we have a family audience on the site. Swear words really aren't necessary.

I would have to say sometimes i dont mind taking my mrs and a mate and his mrs out... but it has to be a planned day for it... not going out too far and just targeting simple fish

On other "serious" fishing days, no girls at all really unless they dont winge at all and pee before they go or learn to use a bucket :1prop:

And if they dont like the conversation... then they wont come again!

:074: That's classic! :074:

My :wife: is keen to come fishing with me, but it will be on a day when I'm not seriously fishing, otherwise it would be distracting. She will need some lessons first so she can rig up and dehook fish etc, so in future when she comes along I don't have to do it for her. Makes it much more enjoyable.

Kids are sort of in the same boat. I'll be teaching my young fella when he's old enough so he can do it all himself. The little bugger will probably go fishing during school holidays and such while the old man is working! :ranting2:

I would like to announce the Fishraider QUOTE OF THE YEAR!!!!

I dont mind women on my boat as long as one of them isn't my mrs

Mate that is GOLD!!!

No chicks on my boat. If I wanted to hear whinging I'd stay at home with the :wife: .

When I'm fishing I want to swill beer, burp, fart, scratch my balls, urinate over the side, talk with my mates about ugly chicks and generally be a disgusting pig.

Sounds like a normal day mate and you don't have to be fishing to do that :074:

I've never had a problem with chicks on my boat, or any other boat i go on. It is all up to the individual. I know some blokes who are more toruble than chicks. The only reason i could see to ban my misses is she always outfishes me, she can tie most knots, de-hook a fish and loves a cold beer! If it wasn't for her, i wouldn't be having as many successful outings.

Ha Ha we need to go fishing one day. You've got to have days like that to destress and just do blokey things. Its a caveman thing I think. If only you could build a fire and sit around it as well that would be the ultimate. Jocool came the closest with his gas heater . :biggrin2:

Yes mate it's very true  :074:

Have a few climbing aboard very shorty, just hope the mrs doesn't get the binocs out and try and look for me on the balcony  :074:  she might get a rude shock. Note to self, when fishing with chicks onboard go a bit further out than usual so onboard activities can't be witnessed by the  :wife:

I have no problem with it. The ladies that I regularily fish with bait their own hooks ties their own rigs, bring the sandwiches, etc..

One of them is my wife, the other my best friend.. And they are both tops at fishing. Although they arent to keen on the early starts, so I do get alot of fishing time with just the boys.

Same rules as going to the pub really - you can take girls, but be mindeful of what everyone else wants/expects!!

"It's a fine line between pleasure and pain" (Yes the quote is from a tacky song)

My girl comes out if it's just me and we have fun just the two of us.

If I take a mate out, it's a blokes day - No girls!!

I don't get my nails done, go to the hairdresser for a tint, spend heaps on make up, have a summer, spring, winter and autumn cloths collection, I don’t drink fancy cocktails, I don’t have 25 pairs of shoes and I don’t want a big diamond ring.

All I want is to fish, but I’m to frighten to tell her she can't come in case she leaves me.

I can't cook, iron or clean either :074::074::074:

My 2 cents worth.

Yes I would take my girlfriend out on my boat any time.

When fishing estuarys she can drive the boat, steer the minn kota better than most blokes I know and is very very good at fishing ( even if it is bait fishing ).

Also when we make our annual pilgrimage to Port Stephens, she even drives the boat outside ( 4-5 km's ) offshore whilst we are trolling for tuna and marlin and dollies( my boat is only a 455 profish ).

She baits up by herself and even gets the captured fish off the hook and when I hook up on a good fish she winds her line in and is standing there ready with the net to land the fish.

Then only things left to teach her is to tie some rigs, fish with lures and to reverse the car down to the ramp.

She is really one in a million

Cheers

Lee

My missus hates fishing... mostly because i love it see. That's the way it works. :074:

The one time i took her fishing (her first time holding a rod ever) she baited her own live nippers, casted the rod herself (successfully i might add), hooked a ton of fish... in front of dozens of men at Tuggrah Lakes who were strugglin to catch anything, and then get this, unhooked her own fish and released them in front of these other fishos to piss them off. With that experince you woulda thought that she may have liked the game, but hey :05:

But Joe, why the hell would you want to learn that stuff if you didn't have to?

Maybe I'm just lucky but I can't imagine going fishing without Dollface. She came up with the idea of team port versus team starboard. She bought a whiteboard and marks up the scores for both teams. It's absolutely hilarious. Several people at the marina comment every time they walk past us about who won today.

She makes the sangas, baits and dehooks her own, laughs at my jokes, what more could you want?

cheers

Pete
