Howe
Good day fellow raiders, I'm new to fishing and was wondering where to get nippers or yabbies? I've heard you cant get them in Parramatta river or in sydney harbour because it's illegal, where is the best place to get them? I really have no idea and should i invest in a bait pump? p.s I live in western part of Sydney, in parramatta. Thanks Kind Regards, Howe.
AlwaysLearning
https://goo.gl/maps/SzaUneNAd5y Dont know if you can access on foot, I have always gone by boat or yak but they are there, well I havent been in a few years but I would imagine they are still there. And yes you will need a pump. Good luck. :-) Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
eastwood1980
Can you eat nippers? Has anyone ever tried eating nippers?
t3zza
Yes to the bait pump and you might want to get yourself a bait bucket & aerator as they tend to die somewhat quickly unless you change the water often. https://goo.gl/maps/nzosvETr2Wx
Michael.P
Hi mate. I've seen people pumping around here. It's a bit of a hike https://www.google.com/maps/place/Frenchs+Forest+NSW+2086,+Australia/@-33.7526782,151.1954537,15z/data=!4m5!1m2!3m1!2zMzPCsDM5JzQ3LjQiUyAxNTHCsDE4JzE4LjEiRQ!3m1!1s0x6b12a98b56bcad45:0x5017d681632b7a0?hl=en Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
campr
It's a long drive through the Royal National Park, but Mainebar on the southern side of Port Hacking has plenty of nippers and the pro bait catchers that supply Sydney bait shops pump them on flats just a little further upstream (boat needed). Needed a few for a whiting session a couple of weeks ago and got about 70 in 20 minutes. PS don,t pay for Park entry as not needed as your destination is a residential village and isn't within the park.
SgtBundy
Any spots you find check against the fisheries local guides : http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/recreational/resources/info For example Gunnamatta bay is easily accessible with a big sand flat but is off limits for bait collection.
