Fishing HB

Hi,

    I've just started fishing HB. Are you supposed to let them bump around on the bottom or are they best fished off the bottom?

over sand hitting bottom works well for flatties...over weed or rock is expensive hitting bottom with lures snagging...you have to suit your lures to your water depth...you can also slow your retrieve and raise your rod to keep off bottom..rick

I prefer to fish them off the bottom when they bounce on the bottom it pretty much singles the species down to flathead and  mostly I target bream just use your rod position to adjust the depth

Rod tip at water level lure will run deep, lift rod tip 1metre and lure will run 1 metre higher, lift it 2 metres and it will run 2 metres higher. (Approx)

I never knew that. Most of my lure fishing is from the kayak where I'm sitting with rod tip high up so that's a handy tip to know.
