reelaxation
So I havent been posting since late October and since then I have been getting the itch to get amonst some creek bass from a local skinny creek up here on the Central Coast. In between Bassing I have been chasing EP and other fish around some other creeks and I have pulled in a few new PB's, lost some absolute stonkers who smoked me on 12lb and 12lb leader + managed to get a few fish on surface which is a first for me as I have never been into surface fishing much. I have also had a number of NEW species on lure including Freshwater and Saltwater Eels and most recently some Mullet taking a liking for soft plastics. Majority of the fish fell for Madmic's ribbed fish in either dirty worm or motoroil colours on 1/16, 1/20 and 1/24th jigheads in sizes 2, 1 and 1/0. The surface Bass fell for River2Sea cicada pops and a cheap BiteMe cicada lure How good is that surface BLAST when a Bass engulfs your lure - highly addictive I must say... Cannot wait to do more exploring and hopefully get some new PB's this year. Tight lines and screaming drags

Mike Sydney
Some beautiful fish there, well done! That’s a great to get mullet on lures. Were the mullet taking the ribbedfish or the cicadas on the surface?

Thanks mate in the spots I fish not really so much, they arent secret spots by any means, but some other spots are heavily fished esp around this time of year. Mullet was on the ribbed fish- I cannot get a mullet to take a surface lure of any sort but hopefully as I get better with cicada and poppoers/stickbaits I will see more hit the deck
reelaxation
Thanks for the replies everyone, I have had a blast caching Bass and other estuary species which I have longed to catch for many years- the best part is going to spots I have discovered myself and pulled some good fish from those spots, and I couldnt have done it without some quality lures and persistence. ... With Bass season coming to an end it is nearly time for me to try for a Jew on lure, from the beach... I think thats going to be a huge challenge but I am truly up for it. Till next time Tight lines and screaming drags Anthony Edited January 25, 2021 by reelaxation
