Cremorne Point Wharf Donut

Recommended Posts

So after reading all about Winter fishing, Tailor, Snapper et al, I decided on a trip to the harbour after work.

I bought salted blue Tweed bait from the petrol station and some bread.

I wouldn't say I had high hopes but certainly I got 0 bites on the bread or blue pilchards.

Meanwhile there was a bloke preparing to catch Jews at night. I hope he did.

Tide: Low turning to high

Place: Wharf

Summary: 2hrs, cold, no bites

Not sure if it still happens but when I was 14 (61 years ago) used to get mussels off the Cremorne wharf. Unweighted big trevally would take the first one always broke me off ( line cut my finger ounce )and spooked never returned. Also saw a land based spear have a go but you only got one shot.

Hmm. That gives me some thoughts about trying a certain lure I purchased recently...
