Good morning, Fellow Raiders

My Report of a trip round the Central Coast on the 5th January 2023 with Mate and Mentor @DerekD

Kicked off at Graeham Park on the Gosford Waterfront just near that Central Coast Stadium met at 8,00 am the southerly wind blowe this location out and @DerekD has some suggestions from a fellow raider, so we moved to Saratoga and caught some breakie and then did some top water fishing with soft plastic at the public wharf at Jirramba Reserve.off Mimosa Avenue Saratoga

It was shelter from the wind but not the passing showers, had a few hits nothing big, nothing caught working off the wharf. we change to Skinny Pops without success Spent about 90 minutes.

Next Stops we stayed in Saratoga and cast a line at the Saratoga Oval (Willaroo Road) off the rock wall a little more open to the weather, continued with rail jackets

cast out with Skinny Pops and Vibes got some hit, @DerekD caught a Bream, just shy of legal, release back.

@DerekD was great company with mentoring and advice. on casting and styles of attracting the fish, locations to cast. It was a great learning experience. we spend about 2 hours here and the stopped for lunch at Shelly Cafe on Village Rd at Saratoga. Good Food Reasonable price, service was good, nice people servicing.

Next Stop was cast a line at Terrigal Lagoon parked on Willoughby Rd near the Banjo Skatepark sheltered from the Southerly wind, work on the off the reserve.

we fished here for about 45 minutes when some people came down with Remote controlled boat start to zip around the area, while I did not mind when it became a problem is when the boat stirred up a duck straight into my line and it got tangled, we then spent the next 20 minutes bringing the tangled duck in and removing the line and the lure. the Duck was fine after we untangled and cut the line.

The Driver of the boat decided it was time to disappear before we could have chat about their actions.

We then walk across the bridge and start to fish the northside in front of the house which is reserve with the coming from the south we work around the more sheltered side, casting with Skinny Pops avoiding the ducks (Hahaha), the wind was not our friend, and the hits were not coming while the was definitely activity in the water with fish jumping, just not on our hooks.

It was round 4 pm, we move to our last location Wamberal Lagoon off Remembrance Drive

the wind picked up but it was good, shoe off and walk into the lagoon. we worked the area with vibes and Success Derek got hits and brought in a Whiting. I got a whiting and flathead (Dusky)

All in all a good day considering the weather looking forward to the next venture
