JimT
Going to Lake Illawarra for the 1st time with a mate plus boat. What to expect this time of year and and general info on spots will be appreciated. Depending on the weather/wind when we go may govern which ramp we use- any ramps better or not so good to use? All thoughts welcome Jim

noelm
OK, first off if you have a Nipper pump, bring it with you or buy some live Nippes and Worms from one of the bait shops. Boat ramps are both eastern sides of the bridge, either ramp will be fine. Fish the edges of the weed beds along the channel west of the bridge, run out tide is best ,don’t fish the middle of the channel. Up in the lake itself is just flat bottom, fish the drop off from the channel or the reef near Mount Warrigal easy to find on a map and has a marker. fish no sinker and cast to the reef. Crabs have been quiet but worth giving them a go, trap thieves abound so keep them in sight. 3
