0 Blackfish
Maybe a Serpent Eel, hard to positively ID because of it decomposition.
0 Yowie
Same for flatties caught off Sydney. The little eels are half decomposed by the time they are spat out, so a bit hard to I.D.
0 noelm
We used to just call them “Sand Eels” there must be lots of them though, because at times, every Flathead is full of them.
0 XD351
Could they be the elvers of the eastern short or longfin eel making their way back from the spawning grounds in the coral sea ?
0 frankS
Don't know their proper name but they bury themselves vertically in the sand and pop up now and again . emerge about half their body out of their hole and reverse back down into their hole. I used to watch them from my boat while moored in Bermagui Harbour . My mooring was two spots down from the slipway where they work on the boats. If you want to see these eels doing their thing there is a road that you can stop at and watch them behins the slipway. Frank
