noelm
A couple of spots near me really fire when it’s like that, inside Shellharbour Harbour, Browns Bay at Barrack Point and the Boneyard at Bombo, all great, safe places to fish in big swell.

XD351
And out in that weather there are still the nut jobs jogging ! They were probably on the smaller size of the sets that came through over maybe 2 hours. Touch wood - we haven’t heard of any fool getting washed in while fishing in this and I hope we never do .
Houdini
you just gotta know where to fish. I have caught some great bream and drummer in that exact same place in those conditions. Clovelly Edited August 1 by Houdini added location

I’ll have to get it from elsewhere or just fly fish Golf club ponds, lakes, swamps and canals, along with some harbour wharves are the go when the sea's been huge for a while. North facing aspect also. It's the time of year they take those tiny shrimps just as readily. Narra lake weed beds for them
