just a quick question on how everybody rigs up squid heads for kingy's do you fish it under a float with a few metres of line beneath the float or do i drop it to the bottom and give it a few cranks to keep it off the bottom

Thanks Anroco i might just have a crack at that spot

  8. Hey all,

Went for a fish today up in lake lyell with my girlfriend never been trout fishing before so i was excited went up there loaded with tazzie devils and a few rapalas so for the first two hours i couldnt get a thing so i was trying every lure i had finally found a lure that worked tazzie devil in rainbow trout colours first fish was a very healthy 30cm rainbow as i was searching through my bag looking for the camera i realized in all the rush i had left it on the kitchen table so started flicking around again and half an hour later hooked up to another one which felt alot bigger it started jumping around out of the water and within a few minutes i got it into the net measured up just on 41cm so i was pleased but in the next five minutes the rain and lightening set in and it was time to call it a day hopefully i wont forget the camera next time now there both off to the smoker mmmmmm

  9. I don't know the Heartland but the Chronarch is a great reel. With either Daiwa or Shimano if you pay about the same money, the reels will both be very good quality and pretty similar in performance. Just pick the one that your instinct leads you to prefer and you won't go wrong.

    Cheers, Slinky

Cheers Slinky i ended up ging with the chronarch match up with the Gloomis

  10. I need some advice on baitcasters im looking at buying either a Shimano Chronarch or a Daiwa Heartland its going to be matched up to a Gloomis 10-17lb can anyone give me some help deciding which way to go

I am heading out to Windamere Dam on the long weekend. Does anyone have any hints on catching fish there? Bait and lure fishing. I have a few stump jumpers etc, will they do the job.

    Thanks Dinnerbell.
