There is the camping grounds at the Rylstone end of the the dam, the grounds are well kept with facilities and also a boat ramp. just keep heading to Mudgee from Ilford about 20 kms odd or so .
DON'T take the Rylstone turn off just out of Ilford.
Just keep following the signs to Mudgee & the turn off will be just a bit after Aarons Pass, decent sized intersection which should be well sign posted opposite the entrance to the local rifle range.
Good luck

Hey all,
never been fishing for jewfish before but we went out fishing last night headed out from oatley boat ramp at 6pm got the boat to tom uglys shortly after anchored up put a few rods out one with fresh squid one with a slimey strip and one with with a live yakka and i had my little baitcaster out with a peeled prawn on it just trying to catch some more livies time passed by and not even a bite then my baitcaster went off just thought it was a very nice size bream when it was coming to the side of the boat then realised i had just caught my first jewfish it measured 42cm i was stoked to say the least first time out and i caught one after that it was quiet still tried a few other spots and then decided to head home to a warm bed hopefully next time its gonna be alot bigger but for a first one im still stoked
sorry no photos but with all the rush to get out the door forgot the digital

just need some advice on whether or not its worth buying a Lowrance X126DF fish finder i only fish around botany bay and occasionally go out only a few klms off shore weather permitting of course my mate bought one for $249 and ive seen it advertised instore for around $500-$550 he wants to sell it to me for what he bought it for as his mrs didnt know about his purchase and went a bit crazy
its still in the box brand new i just want some advice on whether its worth buying or not as i havent used fish finders at all and wouldnt know what to look for in one

Hi guys i usually just bait fish but im going away on the june long weekend up to windamere dam and would like some advise on some lures and a good rod and reel setup to take up there my budgets about 400-500 i hear generally you can catch Yellowbelly, murray cod, silver perch and the occasional trout and i have another fishing trip planned for the october long weekend up to lithgow when the trout season starts so a few good lures for trout would be good
