hey buddy, i hooked one yeaterday about 80-100kg and it fought very well. it took about 150m of 50lb line and slogged it out on the way back in. youll definatly need wire though we got done 3 times first before i brought out the big gear and wire..
  8. just check that the boat is on enough of an angle for the water to drain away after it rains. with our boat if you put the bungs in at home and take the out at the ramp about 20-50lts of water comes out after a descent rain..
  9. terrigal boat ramp is the closest.
  10. the entrance/exit to brisbane water is imo pretty safe under most circumstances except for the obvious. very strong winds opposing the tide and or large swells. it would all depend on the size of your boat, experience and weather conditions..cheers.. stevo..
  11. what sort of boats are you guys fishing out of??

  13. hello all, i would like to know how some of you guys and gals can tell the difference between a spanish mack or a shark after having a few big bust offs today. ill set the scene for you all, we had the berley bucket working and aided by bigger baits and whole pillies floating down, water temp was 23.7 deg. cast the whole pillie out unweighted and let sink, wait a few minutes and the struggle to get the rod out of the holder as the fish takes a run of about 50-80m. after tightening up the drag and still getting busted i decided to loosen it up on the last fish and let it run under normal drag pressure and it finally stopped near the surface after about 100m and i was starting to win some line back then it cut me off.. so twice it was my knots going under heavy drag and twice it was frayed and sliced at the end while useing 30lb braid and 30lb leader.. please help me fishraiders...cheers stevo..
  14. hey buddy, sounds interesting but it looks like it will be a rather large book. are you goind to have info on estuary,deepsea,rock/beach,game,lbg and fresh water?? cheers..stevo..
