Started fishing early morning Saturday for a Blackfish session on the Hacking with my good fishing mate Leon. After a stop off to mix the burley,,, off we went to our special spot We had our polaroids on and it was great sighting the huge "blackfish" in the weed beds. Our adrenalin was pumping as we dispatched our floats into the army of BRONZE BATTLERS lurking below. First drift and I was on to a beauty and didnt it go hard straight for the bottom and I was palming the small Alvey as hard as I dared the line was rubbing against the anchor rope and I thought for sure it would pop me off on my light 6 lb leader,but as luck would have it all held together and I had my first 40 cms Luderick in the keeper net . Next to score was Leon on another bruiser and after a tough struggle Leon had a brother to match mine in the keep net. The Blackies were hot to trot and they pullled our floats under with so much force we didnt even need to strike !!!!!!!! Wohooooooooo they are on and we land over 20 great Blackfish and the biggest going 42cms. We landed a nice squid for the table and the final fish of the day was a very nice 30 cms bream taken on weed as well. Leon and I had a blast today and I would like to thank him for his great company and we cant wait to get back into them asap. We had fresh blackfish and squid for dinner and the whole family really enjoyed the taste of fresh fillets and squid rings in batter The Blackfishing will only get better in the coming months and hopefully I will get one close to 50 cms Tight Lines Tom

Thanks Stewy for a good day out on the Good Ship Swordfisherman . Well what a great day ,weather good, Tide just wright, But no Mr Jewfish,,,,, Oh well thats fishing AH!. So as Stewy said we gave the Bream a crack & came up with a few fish........ Oh Yeah what a great Catfish You don't know what you will come up with next in Cooks Can't wait for the next crack at Mr Jewfish Cheers Tom

Grear report Andrew..... Matt ( Brown rockcod ) & I found it a bit tough on the day. Our first 3 Bream were 24.5 cm to the fork , could not beleive it Our first stop was the outside wall of a marina, gave it 40 min could not crack a fish. Then off to plan 2..... gave the flats a go using Hardbodies, a few fish came aboard, couldn't get that keeper. Moved around a bit trying to find fish, still not that 25cm Plus. Ended up at various Wharfs & piers on the way back. Changed back to the Old faithful Watermelon Bass minnow... Yeah, finally cracked it but a bit late in the day... Oh well got one on the board.. So as the other guys say come along , give it a go. Great people If you want to learn about breaming, come along & give it a go. Tight Lines Tom

G/day Mikey1 At the moment i use a 6500br loaded with 30lb Braid i find it to have no problem doing the job. But the only issue i have with the reel is its size, for me it's a large & a bit heavy. The 4500 would be a beter option, Have a look around there are some Great Threadlines on the Market. Tight Lines Tom

G/Day SF20 I have been using the Garmin 178C for the last 6 months. I have found it to be a Great Unit. Are you getting any charts with it ? I'm sure you will be happy with the Garmin . Cheeres Tom
