  1. I had booked a charter with Ross Hunter about a month or so ago, but it was canned due to gale force winds. I am keen to get back out there. Impulse and I are ready to go. We need to make up a total of 6 people. The cost is $240 each. If any one is keen let me know and we will get it happening cheers Dave
  2. post it! what a catch, thats one fat kingie
  3. I think that the butchers %%%%% is another name for one of the wrass species ( maori wrasse i think) we were fishing on fairly light bream gear, I think 6-8 pound line
  4. hit the bay about 930 from mutch ave. Straight to moll point but little joy was found there. Something hit my line hard and ran for a couple of metres before dropping off. met up with impulse and headed out towards the heads where a couple of trevs were landed. headed back into the oilwharf and burlied hard with yakkas everywhere. Landed a decent trev and a cracker of a bream. Just as impulse joined us at the oil wharf, my wife's reel begins to scream with line being ripped off it. It took a couple of mins and the rod swapping many hands to avoid tangles and the second boat to get it in close enough to see any colour. Picked it to be a kingie as it got close enough to the boat for a good look, before it dived and ran again, busting off. Great fun regardless on the light gear that we were using. flightmanager( Ross) put a call across on 96, and joined us shortly after at the wharf. Fished there for another 1/2 hour or so before calling it quits. Caught the ton o fun crew back at mutch ave with there impressive catch from browns. all in all a great day on the water, conditions were absolutley perfect!! It was great to meet up with some Raiders too. Hope to catch you guys again
  5. thanks for the reply mate I guess I am just looking for a general purpase rod & reel for hitting the bay with( if there is such a thing). I understand that these fish are apples and oranges I'm just looking to get a good all rounder cheers

what did you end up buying BB?
  12. gday Ross we will probably try and fish either side of the high tide (about 10.30) and will be lurking around moulineux and the runway. Our boat can be easily identified by the loud squaking noise onboard it ( argh, sorry honey , don't hit me again!)
  13. gday guys hitting the bay sat morning with the . hopefully will bump into some other raiders out there! check channel96 for other fishraiders
  14. sorry for reposting but i couldn't fine the original what radio channel are fishraiders on when in the water. I'll be out on sat and monday in the bay and am keen to meet other like minded raiders cheers dave
  15. 21st is good to go Ross looking to hit the bay this monday the 14th too
  16. get over yourself ilk fish not everyone is as tuff as you! IMO if you are going to front someone in a situation like this you have to be prepared to knuckle on, because you have no idea how they are going to respond. So if you are not prepared to blue, stay out of it in the first place and contact fisheries. Oh yeah, i think Impulse has the record for world's smallest flathead. I saw him land a monster on BB a few weeks back
  17. its ridiculous. I have raised this point with optus a couple of times, and the guy on the other end of the phone line tells me " you've got cable, it can't go any faster" no shit, cause we are maxed out at 512
  18. hopefully this was a one off. Everyone has their off days, I'm glad that other people have had positive experiences with them. Geoff I appreciate your comments, and understand that the websters are not mass produced. Just would have been nice to get some more help off the sales guys. Glad you had a good experience!! cheers Dave
  19. congrats on the anniversary can't go wrong with a classy restaurant. There is another great one down at lugarno, right on the water
  20. Had a great day at the show today, but was let down by the poor showing of the websters and the sales guys at independent outboards. I specifically went to look at the webster 5.2 cuddy, and was pretty suprised to find that not only did they not have a 5.2 there, they didn't have a cuddy on display either. Never the less, I tried to obtain as much info as possible on what I thought would be my next boat only to find that the 2 guys from IO that I dealt with were flat out rude. My wife cracked the shits and walked off, as did my brother. Considering the service we recieved from every other stand, these guys sucked arse bad. A real shame really , when we are looking to spend $40,000+ on a new boat. It makes you wonder if thats as good as it gets, what the after sales service would be like.

  23. Bisso I'm sorry to hear your tale mate, especially the way it panned out for you. You got well and truly rammed with no lube. Can I ask if you had insurance, and whether insurance would cover any of this for you?
