  1. your right tho its a very poor substitute i still reckon high tide ftw
  2. congratulations and they would definately go well as a feed with a few beverages.... but yeh dunno why anyone would want them me and the old bloke used to fish for pigs in a gutter up near south west rocks and they used to be there guaranteed u would catch 6 or 7 an hour and for some reason we used to know once again a chinaman who asked us to bring him back a few everytime we went out.... go figure...neways well done on the feed and tight lines

  4. yeah definately doing australia and our fish a big favour but i cant help but to think a cast net wouldve done a good job today we must had at least a hundred of those lil mudsuckers swarming around us berleying up and i got 0on hit in the 3 hours i was fishing there and there was on;ly one fish landed in the intrie afternoon session that went 2.17kg so not a bad one but i wouldve loved to clean a few hundred of the suckers out with a cast net....neways boys all the best im gonna go and attempt to finish building my new 9ft spinstick so its ready for next weekend..when my mate gets his new 4.92 haines sig ..woot woot lets go get a feed hahah Just an edit from Swordfisherman Cast nets are illegal in all NSW waterways.

  10. ok well my first thing i need to suggest is that i personally have a great bias towards snyder and butterworth blanks all my serious rods that i have used/taken from my father are butterworth balnks and i have a great love of snyder blanks as well and as such i do prefer fibreglass blanks so my vote is behind the snyder blanks short of that my second vote goes towards the livefibre wilson as they are also a top quality blank for blackies all the best and tite lines

  13. yeh they arent the most fun lil creatures just like a big lump of seaweed we had a session dowen at durras lake a while ago and we were using live prawns we ended up with some serious lumps of so called fish....my main fishing par4tner is the undisputed champion of catching these bastards guaranteed if we head out for a day he will catch at least one if not more
  14. GDAY mate hows it goin whats been happening? hey man ive fished the breakweall at swansea and tbh ive had most of my success later int he day ive never got much more than pickers in the morning but with some berley from about 830 to 930 onwards i seem to come across a school of fish salmon and tailor and some good bream however warning to the wise keep som heavier line for leader on hand cos if the leatheries rock upu mite need to have some heavier leader otherwise ull feel more like a charity store than a fisherman withg the tackle ull be losing
  15. yeah i did a lil bit of fishing liverpool wier this year for bass but it tends to be a very short spell that they hang around there forncos they disapeared very quicklyy but yeah thx for that any advice from others would also be apreciated
  16. gday mate im no expert aqnd im sure someone like slinky will come round and prove me wrong and tell me im an idiot but looking at it looks like it would be a leathery of some description.... no idea what type but looking at it thats what it seems like
  17. gday guys and girls well basically im just expanding my horizons and hoping to learn how to do some rod building and possibly make some extra dosh out of it in the future...im looking for a bloke round sydney whod be keen to let me watch and learn from him he doesnt need to be doing nething spectacular just a decent cobber to give me a chance to learn from him ive read books and forums and watched videos but u cant beat actuall;y being able to learn by asking questions happy to reimburse the individual maybe some cash or a case if theyre a drinker just looking for another fisho to pass on sum general knowledge. ps not sure if this is the right fiorum but i know someone will post me in the right section if i get moved tite lines bass_beginner
  18. if u can wade through all the crowd cronulla goes alright for a feed of whiting although its starting tio gfet to the end of the season. best bet for baitr is as aforementioned ganged pillies always a goer or some worms rigged on smaller long shanks but if the tailor and salmon rock up whip out the heavier oleaders or it will be all over red rover me and a mate spent a session up in newy a while back where we had planned to walk the flats and it wasnt happening so we headed out the break wall at swansee and without some of our heavier gear we ended up with 16 hookups in half an hour with 12 bnustoffs from the teeth fishing 6lb not the smartest idea but sure was fun neways boys all the best and will be watching this thread seeing what some of the other older boys reckon... tite lines bass_beginner
