  1. gday raiders anyone heading out tomorrow with a spare spot free had a few days off work and wanna head out for a fish
  2. mate imho id go for sunline super pe in 6lb its absolutely fantastic or failing that i think its called bass hard or sumthing like that all of my braided reels are spooled with those 2 and cant fault them the only variation ive made is on my 1-2 kg stick im running platypus sinking braid for when ur fishing superlightweight plasticws that lil bit of extra help keeping ion contact with the lure is an absolute godsend but yeh stick with sunline super pe or bass hard (its an orange colour) both from meory are around the 30 - 40 buck mark which is more than reasonable for the quality
  3. hey guys just wondering if ne1 has a spot on their boagt and their heading out on one of the above dates drop me a pm keen for any type of fishing been fishing sydney for 15 years so i know what i doin and got the gear pm me if keen

  5. mate without spending $1000 bux on an egg beater an saragosa in a 14000 model 0or an 18000 will do the job matched up with a 400 tcurve im looking at heading there next year and i got it on sale at my local a while back the advantage of that combo is the fact that its big enuff to handle most of the fish that u will get over there but like anything u will still lose fish yet it is also small enuff that when u come home it will still be suitable in home conditions
  6. hey kizzor welcome to the site mate good to have yah neways if you look back through some of my posts i am a big advocate of alvey reels theyre simple tough virtually unbreakable and theyll stop big groper jews and anything else theyre trusted with hell my old man has used em for kings.....however as far as fishing for blackfish goes depending on the rod a good quality fly reel will do the job for example i have a mag blackfish its a snyder glas rods and is a 10' model in a step down from a 4wrap but does the job excellent on blackfish..however i personally am looking at matching it up with a shimano biocraft as this will be incredible as its really light weight has a relatively reasonable drag system and when looked after with inox it is a go to saltwater fly reel for many of my mates that fish for kings and tuna on fly(mildly insane i know..granted that with the 1:1 retrieve you may have aa lil more time but the feel and the control of super light blackfish r0ods willbe awesome...however and there is always a hopwever if you step up to something like a 4w or a traditional glass luderick rod for the rocks gthe alvey with that little extra weight will help with balance and is probably a better option ....this is only kmy oppinion and the beauty of fishing iws regardless of your oppinion anyone can catch pretty much any different fish soo many different ways so in the end what are you comfortable with
  7. hahaha well i need to get mine so just wondering on price and date
  8. mate id go mono backing braid and then probably 10 or so metres of fluro if you cann tie a uni that goes through the guides easy enough then there is no harm with that as its the setup i run
  9. mate tbh i picked up a medalist today for 189 down from 299 matched up to a 1000 saros
  10. mate for that price range yopu could look at a pfleuger medallist, a lox , or definately look at the nitro powerbream finesse however if you wanna step up in price range have a look at a drop shot from gloomis all good options all will do the job however my preferred 2 would be the lox or the nitro powerbream finnese
  11. Ok guys and girls its cold and its wet and well i have been planning the next 12 months w0orth of fishing and am preparing to fill in some of the wholes i have in my arsenal anwayds guys looking at a 10-15kg t curve 200 and a saragosa 5000/8000 undecided as of yet this will become my live bait rod for jews and kings and can double as a light jigging rod.....other than that replacing blades and metal replacing my pig, niggah, and breambo gear as well as spare trebles and circle hooks for jews 2 new alveys and wellllllllllllllll atm depending on how exctent i wanna go id love a fireblood 2000 but realistically im looking at a navi or elf what about everyone else whats everyones goals for the next 12 months wats on peoples shopping list

  13. you afre right about the deoxyginating the water but i doubt anyone would be brave enough to eat its atm caused the closure of part of durras lake in murramarang national park to all fishing and boating not a red tide but another tide of algal bloom neways theres my 2 bobs wrth
  14. im lucky as in i do mostly landbased but you guys offshore dnt feel like your alone when dealing with asses in the waterway... between people not being able t0o cast to save their lives and cross your lines while landbased not egtting olut of your way when you hook up to solid fish on the breakwalls or off the stones as soon as they get there walking up to where your standing and bcasting right next to you and my fav of all time getting excited becqause theyve got a bucketload of 5inch long bream and tailor i dont even think its a matter of education more a matter of stupidity or absence of common sense
  15. well done its been good watching the boat change
  16. good effort ..when fishing wallys ive found it always a good idea to taker along a spike and if you can get em rig up a yakka or gay or watever you can on the spike does a better hjob of what you did with the quid jig some good squid and crab around wallys but never seemed to get decent fish ther dunno why

  23. yeah great effort excellent fish btw as mentioned above definately post in the submit the records sections
  24. just be careful on the number of rods you are taking i could be wrong but i think the most you are allowed to carry is 5 per person whether they are being used or not....dnt mean to be a spoil sport but im just saying..however i could be a complete dope and be wrong i hope i am neways try a drift between tom uglys and captain cook or the bay to the right
