  5. G'day all, I'm taking the boat and heading down to Lake Conjola for a couple of nights with the wife and kids tomorrow. I'm going to head over for the day to jervis bay and was wondering if anyone has had experience fishing and boating down there and any news or advice about the area like; 1. Best places to fish 2. Best places to launch boat 3. Any restrictions or no go zones 4. Any nipper grounds? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Robert

  10. G'Day Monch, I can relate to ya as far as the back breaking work goes into pumping nippers . I'm pretty much down on mainbar flats every weekend pumping myself. Greg L has hit the nail right on the head cause i've just learned in the last few weeks that it is easier to pump when there's water over the sand as opposed to an exposed sand flat. i've been using a bucket with holes in it as a strainer and it works well but Greg's idea sounds easier. With water over the sand bar the nippers stay closer to the top and i find that most of the time i can get 3 nippers with one pump. Another thing i've learned over the last few weeks as well is when i'm pumping and the sediment is stirred up around my feet and a lot of small whiting move in close to where i'm pumping looking for a free feed. i've identified with my polarized sunnies that the larger whiting are hanging not too far in front of where i am, so i tend to cast out toward them and that's been working well as i manage to land whiting ranging from 35-45cm. Hope this helps. Robert

  18. G'day Raiders, I havn't taken out the boat for about 4 weekends due to the crap weather but was itching to go for a fish today. As most of you know i've had the quinny for about 5 months now and have already clocked up 61 hours on it lol . We decided to head down to our local system.....The George's river which was nice for a change seeing that we've only ever fished Port Hacking. Not knowing where to try we saw a few boats fishing in Great Moon Bay so i figured we'd try there first. Not much was coming up on the sounder but all in all we hung around there for about 45 minutes and managed a nice whiting. After that we headed just past the como bridge and picked up 2 nice sized breams and 2 flatty's around the woronora river. It was nice to get out today and i'm looking forward to fishing with Ross Hunter tomorrow. Cheers, Robert
  19. G'day Jerry, from my previous experience in the seafood game blue eye is best preserved by heading and gutting immediately after catching. Regards, Robert
