sounds like it would be perfect to make into a bass or trout boat to me
  9. Hi Cameldownunder! Yes you do need to have extinguishes checked every 12mths - I had workshops & we had an inspector come round to check the inspection tags (council or workcover??). Yes it would be cheaper for many boaties to buy a new one depending on the size of the extinguisher - if you have a little 1-2kg just fork the $20-$30 to keep yourself out of hotwater & who wants to have a fire onboard & an FX that does nothing! R
  10. Stewy - you kill me! on a serious note it depends on how old your gear is - I have an old (& I mean old) Diawa reel & it clicks on retrieve. could be a part of the way it was designed originally - I can stop it but I cant remember how - I am older that the reel guess that explains it
  11. yes but its gives them an excuse to get back out & perhaps do a little more fishing (especially while they wait for the tide to turn)
  12. great job & don't you look pleased
  13. did better than me mate - well done
  14. Yep always best to disconnect battery from system as mentioned above, you risk frying your electrics in either motor or console. Also consider; if your battery is deep cycle or not as I think you may need a voltage sensing charger to cut of charge when battery full or risk overcharging (boiling the acid) & shortening the life of your battery R
  15. Hi all went up to Taree to pick up my daughter & she asked me to take her for a quick fish. So my niece & her hubby put together some gear & we headed off for an hour of fishing on Saturday afternoon. As we were not really planning to do any serious fishing (my 1st mistake) we took frozen prawns (2nd mistake) & headed off into the sunset to wet a line. Bec took me to her favorite spot & we rigger & baited up for a spot of Brim fishing. (my 3rd mistake) Well, all 3 hooked up a baby brim each & I hooked a 30cm flattie - but as I had on a small hook lost it as I was bringing him in! But all in all we had a very relaxing & enjoyable afternoon together. one of the baby throw backs featuring my daughter Elizabeth - another convert?
