  1. Sure am should be on the water at 0630 - 0700 heading out from the Hacking
  2. Solid king there mate, dont know how you call it small even thought the average fish is alot bigger for that area. Pretty sure the australian record was caught off that powerstation. Top effort anyway.
  3. Get emery cloth and rub the stub back and around the area where the inner seals sits, you want to smooth the area up for a good fit. I use an adheasive water proof grease on the outside of the inner seal and stub and i find it works well. If you have some slight damage on the axle stub you can use a lock tight shaft or bearing glue to hold everthing in pace ( i find it work very well and I have got a lot longer life out of my bearings. But to remove the bearing after the loc tight is applied you will need to use and oxy.
  4. Nice to see that is some fish about, hopefully they make it up to sydney soon!!
  5. I have near new 2 axles, 4 hubs, 4 sets of bearings, 4 x 7 leaf slipper springs, U bolts, fish plates, wheels and tyres at home. They all have only been used a handful of times and have a a maximum carry capacity of 2800kg. i bought a bigger boat not long after so i have to upgrade everything to take take the extra weight. If your interested in the just send me a message mate.
  6. Yeah I fish out of the hacko too. dont fish browns on the weekends much anymore only during the week.
  7. Thanks guys, went to the canyons the other day and only got a 6kg strippy and one other hit but jumped off in the first mintue, nothing else to report. Weather turned (nothing like the forecast 10-15kts 1-1.5m seas) had 20kts to 30kts and 3.5m seas at times out of the ESE so it was pretty uncomfortable so we pulled the pin maybe next time.
  8. Does anyone have the GPS marks for the Southern Canyons which have an approx bearing from Port Hacking 120 degrees? Can not find them on the GPS section or any other web page. Any info would be appreciated.
  9. I was logged in and I could not find the GPS marks on the site, i dont know if I missed it or was doing something wrong but I could not find them, there was an error that came up.
  10. I have been looking at the surface temp off sydney, just hoping the warm water hangs around until I get of this ship, then I can get stuck into it.
  11. One of the best reads I have in a long time, keep up the good work guys. Bloody brillant.
  12. Thanks guys I am pretty sure I have found the area. Ill be heading out in the next few weeks once i get away from this horrible place call work and see if the fish want to play the game.
  13. Thanks guys, I have found a few diffent GPS marks for Heatons and one is almost 19nm NE of Browns and other 2 marks that are 17 and 22nm ESE of browns approx bearing 110. So I think you can imaging my next question which on is actually Heatons?

  15. Has anyone got the GPS marks for Heatons that they would like to share? Can find them on the net anywhere. cheers.
  16. Whats the fuel capacity? what types of main engines and gen set? Fuel comsuption at 8/10/12kts and cruisng speed? may have to look into a fuel bladder. Offshore comms you should have a MF/HF radio, SAT-C, maybe a basic GMDSS station, Fleet 55 are all options. Should look at having a 96nm Radar installed with atleast a 6 foot scanner. Anyone onboard compentent in Offshore navigation? Potential problems besides mechanical(will have to have extensive spares onboard to cover nearly everthying that could go wrong). I have never spoken to someone who has a good trip across the Tasman Sea, its rough. There is limited anchorages around the island and they can be uncomfortable. You would have to contact the island regarding extra fuel for when your there and for the trip back. Your best bet is to run to Port Macquarie, refuel then head out.you maybe able to organise to have your own supplies shipped out on the LHI Trader. THE FISHING IS AMAZING at LHI.
