Hi team,
I am heading out of berowra on Friday chasing lizards on SPs. I have room for 1 person to come along for the morning.
Experience not required.
Shoot me a PM if interested.

To be scientific a frigate is not a mackerel, It's a tuna.

Hi jim,
I had a similar day in pittwater, couldn't find anything that looked like a king on the screen.
There seemed to be one million macks in a 2 degree break that looked awesome.
I got about 4 Mack tuna no bigger than 30cm. Nothing really on the surface.
How big have the harbour frigates and bonito been?

My old man would get it going for bottom bashing, it's got umm character.

Price up the components and see how keen you still are, it might be best hung in the man cave as is.

+1 gamakatsu 3-4/0 circle for lizards, I don't bait bream so no input from me on that one.
Some circle patterns work better than others on different species.

Marlin will hang with the dolphins and (big) tuna often travel with them, dolphins are better at finding the bait ang the gamefish take advantage. Are you guys saying that it's worth trolling lures with the dolphins because fish hang out with them?
As for trolling the edge, the boating guidelines state how far from them you need to be, unfortunately the dolphins haven't read the brief.
Bear in mind this is just one piece of the offshore puzzle along with birds and lines and breaks and everything else.

Don't worry about the dolphins, the big fish will hang with them and they always avoid anything with a hook. Their sonar keeps them out of trouble.

G'day everyone, sorry for being late, big report sorry!
I caught a squid near the ramp to start which was good.
I caught no more which was bad
A few good marks on the west side of pitty which was good
They didn't bite bad
Plenty of marks in the moorings good
A 30cm trailer took my only squid bad
There was a bust up well clear of the moorings good
It was difficult to deliver a 3inch minnow on half gram jig bad
The 2pound bream gear did the job, the next 20 minutes or so were taken up with a rat that went 62 good
The kings went deep into the moorings and dispersed bad
Had a shot breaming on some nice looking poles and pontoons and got a few bites good
No bream but a few pinkies and this thing?? Bad
Tried for a calamari for the plate and hooked a good one at a new spot good
Dropped it at the boat bad
Pulled up in Cowan for a tidy up and dropped in a frozen squid on a lazy rig and hooked up good
Tightened the drag after a few minutes (dumb move) and dropped guessing a well legal Jew BAD
Headed towards home on an enjoyable day good
Took a wrong turn and went up smiths creek bad
Turned around and spotted some surface action good
Was already running late shouldn't stay bad
It escalated into serious creek carnage good
Lost a couple of lures bad
Landed a bunch at a fish a cast 38-45cm or so good
Released them all cos I'm a bad fish snob bad?
Probably the most eventful and fun donut day I've had

I gave my one a go today, I had visions of a gulp prawn. BUT, it kinda went sideways and fell over and had nothing.
Back to the drawing board for me, anyone else?

Firstly, who said you can't?
And secondly I wouldn't be asking that bureaucrats can come with some strange answers, it could get a bit weird.
I believe you can't let the barnacles that grow on your boat go in the water!

Are we honest enough to ask what people don't like on this and other forums?
And it would be good to see a few more low frequency posters chip in to this discussion.

Hi Brett, were you fishing down the middle in the deep or on the shallow banks?

I am a bit less proud of mine now! The hook exposure is better on both of yours. Time for another shot.
-
It could be linked to blood pressure!

For yakkas,
Try a 3 loop paternoster. 3 chemically sharpened hooks to start replace the last hook with lead if you really need to.
They are sharper and weightless has lifted my yakka success significantly.
I use cut peeled prawn as bait.

Cool! Guess what I am going to be keeping myself productive with this afternoon!
Can't wait to see yours and others!

Good to see you back buster1.

Look at the synoptic chart. A big L surrounded by lots of lines is nasty, as in tomorrow and Friday. The swell will take a bit to get here. Saturday and Sunday 3-4 m or more, go stand on a cliff and feel the power.
