I know someone who experienced this problem, while trying for a line class record & getting smoked by a tuna. The heat generated from the amount of drag pressure, didnt end well. (This is an expensive brand reel). The spool locked up & nearly pulled him in the water. Lucky a mate was holding on to him. cheers zed

Hi guys, I got some of these brazing rods delivered yesterday, non of the brands mentioned above. Im no welder nor claim to be, but from the video's ive seen looks pretty easy. (just like soldering) So far so good only practicing with 1.4mm angle, it seems to hold well. 1st attempt I blew a hole in 1.4mm angle & distorted it. (I was rushing) 2nd attempt tried seam welding 2 angle sentions together (easy) 3rd attempt fill a hole (no problems) Im actually going to try & construct a few things then bash the hell out of it just for fun. We'll see how it goes with 3mm I think I could make heaps of crap for the boat. I'll put some photos up & maybe a video (video will be just like bloopers) cheers zed

Hi Raiders, After feeling the pressure from work I decide to take the squid gear to work with the plan to hit the shoreline straight after work. Problem was I couldnt get it out of my head, All day I was think'n mmmmmmm squid I couldnt decided were to go, With very little knowledge of sydney waterways I need to accumulate fishn spots. I decide to hit botany bay. I look at the clock & its only 12.30 Knock off time is too far away. needless to say i got very little done. Finally knock off time comes around & im off like a scouldered cat. I finally get to the destination. 1st cast, what a massive relief It felt like i was in heaven & I hook up. "BASTARD" got off. With my quest to know the area i move on. Casting as I move around. I get a couple of more hookups along the way but they ended up getting off aswell. One particular spot It looked very suspicious I had a few cast here & I hook up. At this point Im thinkn "DONT YOU DARE DROP IT" i get it in & its only hanging on by one tenticle. I get to the shore Another cast straight back there Im on again. I managed to snag 4 in a row from this particular spot. Then its gone quiet. I move on with no success. by this point it very dark & not knowing the area I decide to head home. PS. Just wondering how many desk jockey out there are feeling the pressure from there manager & has it increased in the past 12mths. (after what my wife saw i am very concerned about the amount of pressure the bean counters are putting on employees.)

Hi wrongbait, It is true about the floatation from 2006 on new vessels. As for a pressed boats, you cant go past a Quintex millenium hull. I have one & many of my have them also. I initally wanted a different pressed make but riding in a quintrex made me choose one for saftey & stability. Plate boats are tougher & heavier. Im not sure about there configuration I wouldnt like to comment on them. I havent had the pleasure to ride in them. good luck I reseached for approx 4years before I made my decision. cheers zed

trust me when i say this get yourself some jitterbugs & cicada surface lures I cut my teeth on the nepean. I love my bass fish'n There is nothing like a surface strike in any type of fish'n cheers zed

Started Last night cathing up with few raiders & catch some squid. SQUININ, RAFINX, & SARA. (really nice people)Hi guys. I only managed 2 squid, but not to worry gotta get up early anyway chase up some more. Headed straight to pittwater for some squid. 1st spot no luck wasted no time so we moved on. 2nd spot 1st cast Im on, my mate says weres the net. I think to myself not again. I get the little bugger boat side & it gets off. NOT HAPPY JAN. We moved again. 1st cast I get snagged There was no way I was losing this jig. I didnt have a spare of this colour. So I dive in to retrive it. approx 3mtr deep I get 1/2 down it comes loose. Dry off try another spot. 1st cast Im on again. This time the little bugger had all his tenticle hooked I was able to lift it straight in, by this time it was getting late needed to get fishing. Off to Barrenjoey, Sounder was full of fish. Looked promising. On goes the live squid. Not even a minute the rod is buckled over. After a few minutes 65cm is onboard My 1st king & its legal, I could have done a little dance on the boat. while I busy unhooking my mate is on with a strip bait. In total we landed 12 kept 5 legals. good day but very hot cheers Zed
