Hi Adams Apple, I have the same plans for my tinnie, You are on the right track, all your material is availabe from any major hardware store. Just remember to try and utilise the space under your platform. When creating a hatch use a T section either side for support. When fixing a permanent section use stainless screw once you have carpeted your ply. You can have 1 or 2 hindge section depending on your fussy you are. I hope this highly technical drawing helps. I must not be holding my tongue right or something Nothing on the sounder hardly any boats & no surface activity. wind picked up after lunch as predicted. time to go home with a big fat donut. cheers Zed

Hi Roosterman, I was talking to my local tackleshop a while ago regarding radio's on boats, They fit alot to the tournament style boats & they cant get them to last due to saltwater getting into them. I have a half cabin boat & the 27mhz radio is mounted inside the cabin. Im still not confident in mounting AM/FM CD radio for that reason. I'd like to know if anyone has mounted a AM/FM CD radio without any drama's

You have opened a can of worms. When you say outside (how far) I dont want to scare you but how confident are you. I've been 2km offshore in 12ft tinny & 3m sea's (NO WIND) but it turned to S%#T on the way back. The wind picked up. Waves were breaking to the boat ramp. Had to ride the wave onto the beach & Jump out of the boat (wrecked hundreds of dollars of gear). I personally like the Quintrex Hornet range your style, You need to rememeber the lady's like protection from the weather & a real fishing boat has very little if any. this is what i will be upgrading the tinny to once I get around to it. Alphabet.

Hi Elite, Place lever into gear either forward or reverse, try & turn your prop by hand. If it turns, check to see if the shaft nut turns If the shaft nut doesn't turn. (possibley prop bush) If the shaft nut turns (either g/box problem or cable alignment) If your not sure take it Huett Marine

Hi Raiders, I have a few guys at work who want me to take them in the boat to Port Kembla for fish. Im not familiar with the area. I have seen the Islands from Mt Ousley on my way down the coast. I have heard the most southern Island holds some nice fish. Any help would be appreciated. (bait area's would good)

Hi Billfisher The sounder is a colour Furuno, fish were showing on the edge of the pinnical. I can only assume these were kings, (i was hoping). This was our first jigging trip.

Hi Raider, Went out to the Peak for a jig this morning armed with 20 jigs expecting jackets or bust offs. Jigged for approx 2hrs. Hell this is hard work, sounder was showing fish & heaps of them. My jigs must have been butt ugly, not a single touch anyways this wont be the last, hard work for a big dounut. spoke to the charter guys out there they had same result

Mate the Sh@# really hit the Fan. I know how you feel. Reminds me of a day when I was into fast cars (many moons ago) went to wollongong. Not much happening Locals must have known something. A group of us were heading home 5 of our cars collected by highway patrol sent to WIN stadium were they had a mobile RTA station.(bummer) Not one of us got away without a fine & a defect notice. I have smartened up since then.To make things worse it was also televised on WIN. I started getting phone calls the next day from people i knew at the gong giving me heaps. There is always next time.

Hi Fisherbear, When you say the starter is ticking Is the the flywheel turning (if not - try different battery) You will not get spark if it doesnt turn Make sure the gap on the plugs are right. hope this helps
