  1. We had the same experience.....first cast of the morning I hooked a 80cm + croc and dropped it as it was being netted. We were only able to get a couple of 50cm flatties after that miss. It was a good day out though and will submit a post shortly.
  2. Yep, Murray Cod is certainly on my bucket list. I have been reading the latest posts on the green fish and keen to give them a crack this year.
  3. Hi Poddy, great lizard mate......wish I caught that yesterday for the Pirtek . Bassboy and I thought about coming over for a chat when you were at the entrance of Wooloware, but decided we had better concentrate on the competition. Next time we see you we will duck over to say hi.
  4. Bass, flathead, tailor & whiting are the species for NSW pirtek challenge......good luck all FR competing.

    1. Spooooled

      Spooooled

should be cracker for the flathead fans

  5. Great report, felt tike I was there with you and your brother. Bad luck on missing the magic metre for a wild river Barra. That groper on a lure is a fish of a lifetime , your brother must have been stoked. I look am certainly looking forward to reading your post about the up river sesh on the Barra .
  6. Great flattie sesh Rob . Good to see the fish back on the chew in the Georges and I am looking forward to chucking plastics at the Georges flatties over the next couple of weeks.
  7. That looked like a fantastic trip Dean, the fish were probably glad that it was a family camping trip rather than a proper 'fishing' trip . You are just smashing them. The range of fish caught in that area suggests I should venture out there one day.
  8. Great report, if you also get onto some EPs you'll get addicted to the hard strikes and tough fights of both of these natives......both are my favorite southern fish species
  9. What a great looking Bass. It looks really healthy for its size, especially this far south .
  10. Some excellent flatties there Rob, they would have produced some tasty fillets. I assume they are all hanging around on the drop offs from shallower water?
  11. Great outcome for a flattie sesh, sounds like an exciting battle.
  12. Great to see that someone got onto some fish today. That sambo would have been great fun on 4lb leader!
  13. Gotta love those Jackall Chubby's; although I wouldn't have thought about using a chubby to catch a Jewie.
  14. Nice flatties there mate and great photos of the sunrise. The location looks superb , well worth the early morning starts.
  15. My first ever lure caught fish was a sooty grunter (we knew them as perch) when I was ten years old (1980). I used a wonder wobbler at Eungella Dam near my home town of Mackay.
  16. Well done, that's a nice jewie. Was he taken on a blade or sp?
  17. Congratulations, excellent fish from a yak especially is those testing conditions.
  18. Sounds like a great midday Bass session, even of they were on the smallish size.
  19. Mick and Che - great to meet you both and thanks for showing us the upper saltwater reaches of the Georges River. Bass boy and I will be exploring it a whole lot more. I was so excited when I hooked that Luderick as I thought it was a jewie and was very surprised when a Luderick appeared from the murky water........despite the disappointment the fish has improved my Luderick PB by 1cm.
  20. Great fish Hodgey, especially considering the conditions. Hope the fish are more active over the Easter weekend for you and your son. PS that 40cm EP must have given a great fight. Paul
  21. Thanks Rob, it was an enjoyable session despite the lack of surface action. I will be need to remember to change it up rather than just being lazy. Cheers Paul
  22. Great to see you back on the yak again Roberta and excellent report as usual. Although you have certainly paid a heavy tax to the lure gods
  23. Excellent session there Kel and good to see some nice crocs about. My last couple of crocs have also succumbed to a squishy fish.
  24. Wow outstanding session mate, you have obviously found a good hole. Good on you for releasing the fish, especially the breeder croc. How was the water condition and temperature? I have not heard of jewies boofing, but I could imagine they would if there is bait near the surface. Cheers, Paul
