Man oh man that must sux ,i was looking at you today in that polycraft at moli-point downrigging and was having a discusion with my mate on what a great setup fishing rig you you have. I was in the Blue BC and only managed 2 salmon ,trev,s, and a rat king in that spot. Hope your boat is ok.

Great start today with pulling in some rat kings at 45cm whiched looked like they were born yesterday...went really quite after for 2hrs till i connected to this beast. Its first run was blistering had me thinking here we go a thumper king but wasnt to be but it gave me a good run on 12kg kingmack rod+Saragosa 14000+50lb fins+50lb leader+6/0 mustad = squid strip=

Thats a shame with the promise of good arches on the sounder and not get connected to a solid king on the bait grounds at JB has happen to me also....its amazing how big the bait skoolz are especially the slimey macks, at least you got out to one of the most beatiful parts of the world.

Another Dead Day On The Bay.....Is a saying ive had for years but i love the place also. Ive been to tangalooma and will never forget walking along the beach towards the shipwrecks and all hell broke loose with COBIYA smashing bait fish on the surface ,then came the kings,then came small yellowfin tuna,then the dolphins smashed the lot of them...i looked behind me to say DID YOU SEE THAT but there was no one around.

Just wondering has anyone taken up the there $150 no questions ask ,hand the broken rod in and new rod on the spot from were you bought the rod. Now the reason i ask is that a number of Tackle stores i have been to ,the return price varies at $150 and even $250 on different model rods.Really had that felling of different face different price.

Because the hub expands and contracts from temperature change and it works its way out.1ST Bash another one on with a rubber mallet or hammer and a rag. 2ND place some silicone around the hub and the bearing buddy, clean both surfaces well from grease before doing so. It also stops water getting in were the buddy and Hub join...Easy fix...

Looks very much like a king fish but has a very differnt strip running down its side and they dont grow as big as some kings say 20+kg, they look a lot slimmer also. Id like to know how long do they hang around for? the dollies ?

Well done mate...thats my PB also 85cm. Its hard going with live squid as there are alot of peckers that destroy the squid. Congrats and enjoy your Kingy Lunch.

Its a day later and im still smiling, the hooks were (Penotrate)5/0 which have tinsel or flasher tyed on the hook from rig master and the leader was 40 pound PENN i use to do my own rigs... i do it this way because of cost saving thanks to leather jackets.

Headed out botany heads before the sun came up in a sloppy ruff sea with the swell pumping hard and fast at stages. Sounded up some reef looking bottom(50m) with Snapper snatcher type rigs with heavy lead i managed to pull a nice snapper that came in at 6kg and measured 75cm...PB for me Sorry for the quality of iphone PIc it was ruff
