  2. Hey guys My bro and his kids and i headed out to the bay off molineux point cuaght a bonito on the way out and a few small snapper. Could someone tell me where to get the yakka's ive tried around the bridge no luck. also those dropper riggs with a dozen small hooks never have any luck. Really want to try catching some kingies on livies. Cheers
  3. Well what a windy day, never believe the weather it did calm down for a few hours, got my kingie but only a small rat 73cm on a bottom bashing rig off dolls point, once the wind died off some hours later after sunrise bit the bullet and headed up toward molineux point. Only to stop after we found some fish busting up on the surface we caught 3 bonito, 2 tailor and watched as the kingies were following the bonito on the end of our line there was about 5 or so hanging around as the bonito was pulled in. Then once the sun hit the water and the clouds disappeared the buggers would not take any thing we threw at them. We then decide after having sore arms and being annoyed with boof heads that kept driving into the schools instead of the edges, we head up and anchored off the red marker at molineux point. Mate caught a nice 2.6kg Flathead gutted. Good day in the end but the wind was annoying.
  4. I also headed out 4 am this morning mate wanted to call off due to wind i said mate it would take more than that to put me off lol, all good caught one small kingie just off dolls point, then headed up when the wind dropped off toward the hot water outlet came across a lot of surface chop. Had fun with bonito, tailor and watched with frustration as more kingies were chasing out metals and the bonito we were pulling in. Ended up with 3 bonito 2 tailor then suddenly it didnt matter what we threw at them they would not take it so headed up to the red marker at moli point landed 1 40cm flathead and my mate ended up with one that was 2.6kg after it was gutted and cleaned. Other then the wind was a good day, a lot of people on the water. Cheers Steve
  5. Hey guys & Girls Heading out tomorrow morning 4am for a fish in the bay, hopefully chase some kingfish and salmon. Fingers crossed we have a good morning and the weather stays good. Will post when get back as to luck. Cheers "If you own a boat and you only use it once a month or less, get your priorities right"
  6. Hey I have had conflicting info re: where the two nautical miles is measured from, one says its from the heads of say port hacking or botany bay.Meaning if you head either straight out or left or right along the coast line from those points. The other says anywhere from any shore line for eg off say the austinmer boat ramp which runs straight into the ocean. So virtually i could travel under two nautical mile from the shore anywhere along the coast line!! The reason i ask is i want to fish at maroubra but cant afford an epirb at the moment, also i dont intend on doing a whole lot of offshore fishing but i would like to be able to fish off say the boat ramp at austinmer or head out from port hacking but travel along the coast line and try different spots. I have all the other safety equipment flares ect. Cheers
  7. Caught a nice size salmon on fresh squid in 10 meter hole just round from como bridge, was fishing deep though other then that not much else. Am still hoping to catch the elusive jewfish . Heading back out there again today to fish the incoming tide.
