  1. Thanks Guys much appreciated and yes DavidA all good now just a bit tender when sleeping but ribs ok now.
  2. Hi guys, Well its been 4 months since I climbed over the front of my boat and stepped onto the Trailer Hitch post to climb down hitch the boat up after a night of fishing. I had done it hundreds of times before with out an issue till January, i stepped down place foot on top of post then slipped off landing on the tow bar. Breaking three ribs and puncturing a lung. So if anyone heard screaming at yowie bay ramp in January at 3am that was me lol. What i'm after is any idea's for a stepping platform over the front of the boat on to the post which is non slip and safe. Also something that wont go through back window when reversing in to a tight turn. Cheers in advance
  3. The original post was removed because i didn't follow the rule's regarding blocking out the location ect, Anyway it was on the hacking and used dead squid baits and pillies. Fishing the bottom 2 hours of the low tide either side and the top of tide 2 hours either side. A good day was had at my favorite spot. Also have to say cheers to the bloke who gave me a couple of bags of fresh squid at the ramp he caught over night, they worked a treat. School holidays so hopefully get out more with the boy.
  4. nice work krispy, this damn weather is annoying wish it would make its mind up. I headed out with a mate managed 4 kings and two bust off's. Very annoyed one busted off half way along the line must have damaged it on a previous fish. Looking forward to the next trip school holidays so will drag the boy out lol.
  5. Thanks guys was a good day, will have to black out back ground in photos in future lol
  6. Great day with my son and his mate, fish came on at the "spot" when i suspected rest of the day just caught small stuff. While avoiding getting knocked out of boat by the wake of all the boats. Cant believe the amount of boats on Sunday and boof heads with to much money and no sense, driving recklessly passing kayaks and anchored vessels in under 40 meters. Caught Kingies, trevally, salmon, tailor and heaps of small snapper.
  7. Nice work Krispy, its funny i used to fish botany. Never had luck in the hacking but your right once you figure them out there is no turning back lol
  8. Thanks Guys, was a very simple bait and rig set up Jay88. Very light small pea sinker running straight to hook with a whole pilchard. Had the reel on very light drag so the fish could run with it and fished in the last 2 hours of the run out tide. Same setup i use in this spot for king fish, salmon and trevally.
  9. Dead pilchards was fav spot for the kingies but never showed just the trevally and this bloke. My son was stoked.
  10. Awesome fathers day with my boy a few trevally, small snapper and as night came rod screamed off and the boy and i took turns in bringing up the fish. Thought was a stingray at first but then after the third run she slowed and came up a bit easier. PB measuring at 78cm and a nice size jewie in the boat two happy boys lol.
  11. wondering if anyone's heading out and what are they targeting.?
  12. There are some kingies, trevallys, tailor and as well as small snapper in port hacking i fish a spot on the last 2 hours of the run out and 2 hours run in, floating or pea size sinkers with pillie cubes. Have lost some big kingies recently so they are def out there, mainly lost cause i was fishing 6 pound line and got reefed good fun none the less.
  13. Thanks guys have changed arrangements now going to Wiseman ferry!
  14. I have a Fishing boat with and 8 year old in tow so need to be close to camp grounds if needed, hence why i was asking about jewies that far up as I cant get closer to the main hub and deeper waters near mooney mooney. Cheers
  15. Hey guys I am staying at a caravan park near the hawkesbury River, and am wondering if you can catch bream and jewies etc up that far. Any advise as to fishing the area would be Appreciated Cheers
  16. regarding gauges i assumed they replaced one and that was it, didn't really understand the smart gauge would do everything. hence no need for the speedo, and trim gauge and old ignition . The reason trim lever bent was because they said it was ok to travel with motor resting on lever this was not the case hence it bent. I just would expect some kind of good faith offer being a discount of a the service or something thats all. anyway thanks all for response.
  17. They are fixing the problem of motor hitting boat apparently incorrectly fitted bolt on steering rod, also bent trim lever due to being transported with motor up therefore damaging trim cylinder when trimmed down, also installation new motor removing all old gauges and installing one smart gauge leaving dash full of holes with no options to repair or fix!! question is should i expect a free 20 hour service as a sign of good faith ?
  18. Dealer installs a new motor, motor leg hits boat step on trim down turning right and trim up hits cowling on the right side of boat , a number of other issue's as well regarding whole process. Question would you expect to have the first service done free of charge as a sign of good faith for there mistakes.?
  19. is it to windy to fish botany bay in a NNE or is port hacking better, will have kids and a sore back lol
  20. Thanks guys I took the boat to a marine service after whacking with a hammer and chisel they said it should be fine, just scrape the rust back and paint with rust inhibitor. However I am still concerned it may break I've seen a video as to what can happen. So as soon as financially able I will replace but hopefully it will be ok for now the motor is only 6 years old.
  21. Thanks guys, hey Huey whats sort of price would you charge to replace this part, its basically the swivel pin assembly that will need replacing. The main section is ok just the top part of pin assembly and the nuts that hold it in place also the bracket that holds the link rod in place. Cheers Steve
  22. thanks Huey sounds like a big job for me to tackle just trying to save money, i did an oil change and sparks etc wasn't to bad. No not really mechanically minded but thought may have a crack lol. Might have to pay to have it serviced doh.
  23. Gday guys I have a Mercury Marine 60 HP (3 CYL.) swivel arm that need replacing, however i am trying to see if it was easy to do by myself as they charge an arm and a leg at the service place. does any one or has anyone replaced one themselves and was it difficult? http://www.marineengine.com/parts/mercury-outboard-parts/60-3-cyl/0g290585-thru-0g589999-usa/swivel-bracket cheers steve
