  1. The wharf at Darling Point is fantastic. Because you are high above the kelp beds you can see the squid hunting the jig. Exciting stuff for kids and with and awesome city view. Be sure to note that there is a gate at the back of the park that you can get into park through after the main gate is closed.
  2. I won't notice. I'll be too busy fishing!!
  3. Yup. Heres a screengrab of the google maps marker.
  4. Thanks Alasdair. I reckon they would be dynamite for Kingies or Snapper particularly when used with a sliding rig. It's a technique that I've never heard mentioned here. I think I might be getting my bro to raid my old tackle box back home (Dublin) and post a few over.
  5. Has anyone ever used Eddystone Eels? If so what was you expirence like and where can you get them?
  6. Caught this Port Jackson shark off La Perouse on the 15th when fishing with ReelMan. Caught it while bottom bashing using pilly cubes. Cool thing is the photo was taken with my iPhone which tagged the photo with a GPS marker which then can be recorded in google maps. Technology is helping in the everlasting struggle to tip the odds in the Anglers favour!
  7. Dare I ask how you know what a Tortises Tit tastes like?
  8. Back home growing up in Catholic old Ireland meant that Friday was always Fish and Chips for dinner and Ray was always my favourite. My Aussie girlfriend tried it a couple of years ago when we were in Dublin and she totally loved it. The really funny thing is bones from the wing are soft, edible and taste OK. I don't know what the eating qualites of the Australian varities are like but I wouldn't be throwing a Banjo or Eagle back!!!
  9. Thanks Mate. Was the next morning when I took the photo. The squid colour was a bit more healthy on the flip side tho. My mate caught one practically the same size a few minutes later. We were at the spot as the light was starting fade and as soon as twlight the Squid went off the bite. Later on about 10pm my mate was using the head section of the squid as bait near that huge bouy off Clifton gardens when he caught a MONSTER ray! I think it was a Fiddler ray. I'd estimate it was about 130cms from nose to tail!!
  10. Caught this Squid off middle head the weekend before last (25th July). I think its pretty good but I'm not sure if its a decent size by Fishraider standards so please let me know.
