hi camb [some things to check ] 1 condition of battery .2 battery terminals are clean and making contact .3 battery cables are in good woking order .4 good clean earth contact at motor end of battery cable .5clean contact at solinoide end of cable 6 condition of starter motor . 7 power cable between solinoide and starter motor is not faulty and has good contact 8 starter motor bendix is not slipping good luck ray .
hi mick try retesting it in a drum of water / water level must be at least 6 to 8 inches above water pump ,run in neurtal and see what happens [if it does not pump within a few seconds 10 to15 turn it off and service water pump cheers ray
hi joe this color wire is normaly alive wire [ignition key on maybe ] used to a active a instrument on the dash ? but you my have to open the control boxto see where they are coming from ' some people use the same color wires for everything cheers ray

hi jay the way i have done it in the past is after removing the retaining nut and washer is to get a mate to pull up on the steering wheel with both hands one on each side say at 3 oclock and one at 9 oclock pulling up very hard then with soft faced hammer give the steering shaft a sharp hard wack normaly 1or 2 does the trick [if your not worried about damaging the thread use a steel hammer ] good luck ray

hi all we went out from wollongong 5;30 saturday morning ocean a little un settled as predicted ;the wider we got the better it got ;a little windy at first the swell was 3 to 4 metres but they were a long way apart ;no fish for the first 3 hours not even any rubbish ;then swell started to drop as did the wind ;it ? turned out to be quiet plesent; fish started to come aboard ;mowies 6 snapper 1 salmon 5; at 1.5 kg each off the bottom ;jackets 5 ;sweep became pest ;on the surface ;mack tona plenty ;every where .the water was very cold [from the south] a good by all ;when we were not sure if we would even get out ;my youngest son tim 23 got his p.b. salmon 1.5 kg cleaned ;a very happy boy .agreat day over all ray
hi this model 1987 120'140 hp does have the connector pin under the carbies ;also 1xlarge bolt 5x smaller bolts one is hidden behind the trim tab so remove the connector screw ;trim tab 5x smallbolts 1x large bolt and it should come down . hope this helps ray p.s model number should be j or e 140tlcua or extra long j or e140txcua good luck ray
