  1. Gunther's Wrasse, Pseudolabrus guentheri,
  2. Recurve. The right hand side of the lss looks slightly high so the left side must be out looking at the dead rise you have. You've a bit of adjustment to play with though. What do you mean by a mess ? Are you getting a clean reading when drifting ?
  3. Drop Pete (scent blazer) a PM, he'll be able to advise on packs . He's incredibly helpful. What ever you get make sure you have a lure chain they are Gun rigs.
  4. Sorry Jon, I'm not sure, it's my first one and the skip has the details
  5. Just wandering if anyone else is doing the JB 3 Day in November . This will be my first comp and hopefully the start of a productive game Season. Steve

    I have learnt-

I've learnt switching your plotter on at 5am just on the water is not the time to realise that your brightness is up 100% I've learnt that when you take the kids or Mrs fishing you don't get to wet a line cos your sorting their tangles but they still go on that there caught more fish than you. I've learnt when buying fishing gear it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
  7. Check out the GPS section of the site. There are literally 1000's of marks listed. They are even available in a file you can download and drop straight in you plotter. . Enjoy.
  8. That's an impressive bag of tasty fish. Nice job.
  9. I know it looks scarey but Are you wearing an anti radiation suit to fish?
  10. Nice fish and a beautiful place, I was there 3 weeks ago but sadly didn't get to fish. Welcome to Raiders.
  11. Nice work guys. Some great specimens we don't see in NSW.
  12. As well as avoiding swimmers you also need to avoid submerged cables. Usually not an issue on open water beaches but can be in enclosed.
  13. I'd go with the two spots just like you show in your pic. I went with a large piece of chopping board in some aluminium U channel (welded to the transom) so it would work like a big rise and fall bracket but it was only ever needed launching at gunamatta.
  14. On chrome on Droid. Hit the 3 round buttons top right corner and select "add to home screen"
  15. No worries Dave. We're all on the same team and looking for the same answers. Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
  16. Yowie. That wasn't my point mate. I was trying to get across that if someone proposes an identification they should do it with the inclusion of the Latin name. That way others in the group can be accurate when assessing and agreeing or disagreeing with the identification. Common names frequently change dependent on location or the reference material used and the same common name can be used for multiple species. We're all smart enough to know that a flathead is not just a flathead the same goes for other genus. I stand by my belief in the ID of this fish but quite happy to discuss or be shown wrong if someone has a better idea and can call the species out with a full name. Steve. 22. Hey Donna. Sounds like a very well organised and valuable course. Dependent on location, time, and commitments please add my 15 year old daughter and myself to the list. I'm in Newcastle so hoping for a weekend date. Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk

  24. This fish comes up frequently and is repeatably identified poorly. "lizardfish " is a common name for many species but most importantly a family of fishes. Synodontidae - Lizardfishes To simply label a fish as a lizard fish is not accurate or specific. It would be like settling for" Cod" as an identification. Synodontidae consists of 8 species and I believe this fish is a Largescale Saury, Saurida undosquamis Though there are multiple other common names including Brushtooth Lizardfish, Checkered Lizardfish, Large Scale Grinner, Large-scaled Grinner. Can we please include a Latin name with identification suggestion please so we have common ground to debate where the identification is in question. Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
