well once uni is finished and the girlfriend and I have got our careers going, ill need to upgrade my $900 runabout with a 35hp evinrude to an etec machine. And Huett was going to get my business.

Just resolved it. The valve in the fuel tank was shut, it must of rattled itself that way, quick twist and a few minutes later the engine went flying again. It explains why it would happen after awhile, because it would create a vacuum in the fuel tank. But I think I can explain the reason for last trip to not have any throttle, I accidently touched an adjustment that was meant to let the butterfly open completely, so it would not let me go past a certain speed. So anyways long hard yards are now done, it starts first go, and flies like a rocket, thanks for every one's help in helping me try to diagnose this issue.

I am for fisheries doing their job, at Maimbar the girlfriend and I were pulled up by the fisheries, extremely polite, we kindly told them back we had not caught anything and that our nippers were stored in the car if they wanted to see if we had the right amount (200 as we both had licences) which they said it was ok. We only had 30 anyways, I play the rules of fishing.

OK well I took the boat out again yesterday and the whole time it did not want to get on the plane, which has led me to believe the carby main jet is blocked, allowing for slow idle speeds but no power when needed.

Well in my situation, I have 3 people in my 35 hp 15ft runabout, it took awhile before it had enough guts to go onto the plane, when I installed the hydrofoils, we attempted 3 people again, and the boat launched onto the plane with no effort at all. Not a bad upgrade for some $35 wings lol. - Carl

ARGH this is driving me crazy, you both have valid faults, And ive just left my boat for the day, I will be going back tomorrow. I checked the carby butterflies they are clean as a whistle, could not believe how clean it was. Im also thinking of checking if I have oil fouled the spark plugs, I use a 25:1 oil/fuel ratio. But next couple things to check are mentioned above, will continue investigating and informing you guys, thanks again.

Just wanted to reignite this issue, as Ive found a tad more information. I took the boat out on friday to try out the new fuel and larger fuel line. Unfortunately it did not fix the problem, What I did find tho is once it got to the that temp that makes it slower, I noticed that when I slowed it down completely it just died out and would start untill it cooled down. Now This only happens when I am not going full ball down the river system as I take speed limits seriously. Anyways what I am thinking it is, is that there may be a blockage of some sort in the motor stopping it from cooling down completely. Hence it puts itself in a fail safe mode?

I had a decent burley where i used the white bread bits, burley pellets, a touch of tuna oil and enough water to make a bit mushier then a paste. The stuff is deadly, rather than it floating away, it sits in one spot and slowly sinks down. The ammount of trevally, breams, leathers and other species go crazy.
