  1. Hi Team, Looking to purchase a pair of fishing waders. Use: Fly, rocks and beach. I have been eyeing off the stocking foot waders, im attracted to the fact you can pick what type of shoes to wear i.e. rock boots etc. My concerns: What type of boot can you use on the sand? i dont want them to get bogged with water and sand. I was looking at the zip up neoprene ones. Questions: Any brands to recommend, problems encountered (did they fill up with water etc) Cheers.
  2. I agree, i dont like the vanish. first time using it, i think ill go back to TD sensor. For one, it looks like 6lb and it not as smooth as the sensor which results in the line going curly when its had a couple of good stretches. I got some sunline so ill chuck that on too. Got some redemption the other day when i pulled two 32cm fish out of the sticks, not long but bloody fat and heavy. I have noticed how fat the bream are lately, must be a lot of food about the harbour atm. Cheers
  3. haha chuck it mine.... My mate had a PJ in his tank, they are heaps destructive. Push their heads into crevices looking for inverts so you might get some rock avalanches which could result in scratched glass etc. Have a look at a bamboo cat shark, they look awesome, are smaller then epaulette sharks and heaps more interesting. I could probably find you a snowflake or zebra moray for cheap. Would suit your tank perfectly, just make sure the lids shut tight lol.
  4. Thanks guys, i tried doing it last night before i read this. absolutely agree it cant be done lol. Interestingly enough though, I was able to snell using it. Cheers
  5. I have the same rod, first off its really heavy. especially mine which has a big bloody penn spin fisher v on it. i WAS USING 30LB mono which didnt work well casting wise so downsized to 20lb platypus and now it casts alot better. im also considering braid for this reel as it will hold miles of it. try downsizing to 20lb qualirty mono, reduce knot size. dont no what your using now but slim beauty works well.
  6. Those drums in the bay that people run into at night normally hold some. just burley. im sure someone knows the name of those drums
  7. Hi Raiders, Looking for 9 - 10 foot rod for a 300 sized TD Luna - This is a traditional styles baitcaster. Want to use it for general purpose (bait and luring). The only thing i can find is a TD Sensor surf but too big. amy suggestions appreciated, Cheers
  8. I think the Cherabin are a freshwater prawn from memory? great eating too!
  9. Hey mate, Fishing 2.5 inch grub on daiwa drunk monkey, shimano stradic 1000 ci4, 3lb power pro to 4lb berkley vanish. Serves me right for fishing so light.
  10. Hey Raiders, Had a good session on the parra yesterday using z-mann grubz. Unfortunately, i also got dusted up in a big way. The only bream i managed to get out of the snags were small ones. One bruiser that i lost, would have been at the 40cm mark based on the fight. It went harry and ended up busting me off around some oysters. I also caught this.... im calling it for a eastern frog fish. You should have heard the croak it let off. They actually hit pretty hard but become seaweed for the rest of the fight. Cheers,
  11. very interesting looking critter. yep ill come grab him tomorrow if that suits. i sent you a PM cheers. looks like long armed shrimp? i seen them in the georges river
  12. Thanks Richard, Will give it a bash. Cheers
