  1. G'day Raiders, I have been doing a lot of reading, and no so much posting of late (not to so much fishing either). It was great to get out last week with Matt (Fishingnoob) after work to have cast at the salmon and sharks from the beach. First of all let me say, the sand, its like walking in the snow bare feet its absolutely freezing! I had to stand in the wet sand just to keep my feet from going numb lol. On the tide change the salmon came in thick and fast and Matt had caught his biggest fish to date, a salmon shy of 70cm, he was over the moon! Matt has more pics so keep an eye out in this space. I had some bigger baits out there hoping for a bronzie, caught a few salmon, shovel nose sharks (seems to be so many of these about right now) and a shark which I believe was a bronze whaler - can someone please confirm, it went really hard on 20lb. All fish were released unharmed. You should have seen the parasite we took off this shark it was the size of a rino cockroach. I foolishly just threw it on the sand and we spent the rest of the night tip toeing around hoping to not get raped by this thing. Enjoy the pics, Stan.
  2. Nice work Royce! Are you using a sinking fly? and what line are you using? floating/sinking etc. Would love to get into the blackies on the fly. Also, do you need to burley with read weed before they take the fly? Thanks mate!,
  3. yeh mate, i use a 10cm bimini to an albright or sometimes even a cairns quicky to albright. I will use slim beauty when going mono to fluro.
  4. i could not think of anything tastier than a chicken flavoured squid.
  5. Thanks Al Fella! I put the drive seal on order so should be here soon. Thanks again
  6. Pete you are getting ridiculous with these fish. Just goes to show to everyone that being land based does not limit you one bit. Looking forward to catching up with you soon mate, give me a buzz! Cheers, Stan
  7. Hi Guys, Am looking at the hobie fly rod holder, rubber water seal for the mirage drive and turbo fins for my hobie revo 11. Does anyone have any feedback on these items? turbo fins in particular. Having a look at the design i assume it works the same way as higer gears on a mountain bike? Thanks in advance,
  8. nice work mate, are you actually the barber on high? becuase thats where i get my hair cut lol
  9. hey Matt, how many did you catch? all this season? lmao
  10. Hi Raiders, Very long time since I posted, hope everyone had a great easter. Took the yak out on Friday for a very quick session on the nepean at tench reserve with Fishingnoob (Matt). We normally fish devlins but i wanted to try something new. Headed toward the gorge and only picked up one bass on a bets spinner. Matt had a few follows but no hook up. Havent had much luck on the bass this year, that will be the last bass session we do for this year. Just an FYI, there is a tonne of weed in the river lining all the banks making fishing tough. I found casting along the weed line bought the bass out. Its frustrating though, especially without weedless jigheads. Hope everyone enoyed their break, cheers, Stan

  16. thats ridiculously good. man you have cracked the jewy code i wish i got results like that lol well done mate those are some well deserved fish! Cheers
  17. the inlet is awesome to fish in mate. we have caught some great flathead, flounder and massive whiting at night just fishing the board walk. If you fish bait, you will also pick up alot of octopus. Im not sure if you have been there before but i reckon its the most beautiful spot on the nsw coast. the most crystal clear water and awesome fishing. Theres also some giant ufo stingrays which cruise around. The bar can be fished from the rocks just be careful. Dad caught the most monster taylor there one year so i reckon there might be jews in the wash too. All the best on the charter, Stan
