  1. Hi Raiders, I have taken a promotion on the gold coast and will be moving up next year in Feb! I'd love to get some info from you guys on best locations to live on the gold coast from a fishing perspective lol! I will be working in varsity lakes so hopefully not too far from there. I have been looking primarily around the canals but got my eye on hope island too. Keen to get your input on best locations for beach fishing for jews/sharks aswell as kayak fishing Also, anyone live up that way? i will need some fishing companions lol Cheers, Stan
  2. if your launching at that ramp in the park next to the road bridge be careful, its extremely slippery. If you own a 12 foot or longer kayak and are wheeling it down, the ramp is really steep too which means it scrape on the bend. A lot of current too mate so just make sure you dont ram into anything in the dark. Goodluck!
  3. Thanks Ian, Hope all is well mate. Yeah i found working them slow, along rock walls worked really well. keep the tip down and steady but slow retrieve. Cheers
  4. LOL i think your onto something here scratchie! its wooden spoon fishing at its best lol
  5. thanks boys, Fished it yesterday arvo for about 20 bass. Still nothing of size though! i did get some new angles on the bass though. Id be so happy with a 40cm model just one would restore my faith lol. Cheers
  6. nice work mate! is that beach 4WD access only? Cheers
  7. Glad your sons OK. I'd say if it was going to be an animal, it would be an eel. But to be safe, lets get Jeremy Wade out here to investigate.

  10. Thanks scratchie, Ive been using bassday feather cranks, cicada's, beetles/jitterbugs at night, spinners in the arvo, chubbys, plastics, jackal tn60's, fly and other vibes Did you fish the arvo? Cheers
  11. Hi Guys, Been fishing the nepean river pretty hard lately. From penrith, rowing club down to the weir and the opposite side (emu side), fished emu heights, fished hawkesbury heights, fished emu plains bloody everywhere. All for one small bass and one screaming run which i lost the fish. I have put in so many hours fishing and bush walking through there for nothing. Where have all the nepean bass gone?
  12. yeah mate really good bass up there when they're on. and awesome scenery, its a really nice drive.
  13. jigging works the best from 12 mile.
  14. hey mate fished the same stretch of river on the weekend and a bit further up aswell near yellowmundee. i lost a massive bass which dusted me off in the sunked timber. i couldnt even turn the head on this fish. Well done on landing one though mate, Cheers
  15. thanks mate yeah awesome area. interesting that bright colours were working
  16. Hi Raiders, Fished Lake St Clair on the weekend for bass and yella's of the yak and land based. We were up there for 2 days and camped on the main bank, near the facilities. Day one saw us working the weed, weed line, points and drop off's with spinners, bright coloured deep divers and vibes. We pulled a few bass out, recommend if your going up there to really utilise the sounder. We also worked a few of the surrounding banks from the land targeting sunken timber and the surface over the weed. I managed 3 bass, one being my PB of 37cm still not a monster but really fat. At night, i took one off the surface using a feather crank. Cheers,
